The Elk River Elks took on the Anoka Tornados at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis. Elk River looked to push the ball to begin the game.
The scoring went back and forth early in the first half, as both teams were able to look to push the ball up the court in the early goings.
Elk River was able to go on an early run in the first half. Anoka didn’t give up. They were able to withstand an Elk River run.
Elk River was able to drop some shots in the first half. There was nothing that Anoka could do midway through the first half to slow down Elk River.

As the second half got underway Anoka started out playing defense at the half court line. They didn’t come out and press Elk River. They were playing good man-to-man defense but they were just letting too many guys get to them.
Elk River was able to open the floodgates in the second half and really take it to Anoka early on. Elk River did a good job of making shots throughout the game. Anoka had trouble finding their shots.
I really thought playing on an NBA size floor played a huge role in this game tonight. I thought that it took a lot of the energy out of both teams. They were not used to playing on an NBA sized court.
Elk River was able to come away with the 90-56 victory over Anoka.
