The St Paul Johnson boys’ basketball team beat the Hopkins high school 86-78. Hopkins had won 38 consecutive games.
Minnetonka last beat Hopkins on Tuesday March 18, 2008 in the Class AAAA Section 6 final game.
According to the Minnesota Basketball News, a statewide basketball publication, Hopkins was ranked #1 in class AAAA and St Paul Johnson was ranked #1 in class AAA going into the game.
