The Braham Bombers took on Ellsworth in a consolation matchup in the Pacesetter Sweet Sixteen basketball tournament.
Both teams traded baskets to open the game up. The defense pressure that was applied by both teams was tremendous.
Both teams were able to slow each other down.
Both teams looked to push the ball up the court. They really relied on the transition game to get into their offenses.
Braham did a good job of knocking down three point shots. They were dead on, on their three point shots.
At the end of the first quarter the score was Ellsworth 20 and Braham 19.
As the second quarter got underway Ellsworth was able to knock down some shots early in the quarter. They were able to step up and defend Braham on the three point line and slow the Bombers down.
Braham looked to push the ball up the court as they wanted to get quick points in transition. They were able to go up and down the court as they wanted to Ellsworth looked to slow the tempo down when they were on offense.
Ellsworth was able to go on a run midway through the second quarter. They had a 43-37 advantage at halftime.
Tyler Vaughan had 21 pts on five 3’s for Braham at the half.
As the third quarter got underway both teams kept battling it out. Both teams did a good job of playing aggressively throughout.
Ellsworth was able to shut down Braham in the early part of the third quarter. Braham was not able to get a shot off in the beginning of the game.
Braham went on a run at the end of the third quarter. At the end of the third quarter the score was tied at 56.
As the fourth quarter got underway both teams traded baskets to begin the quarter. Both teams played very well on the defensive end. Neither team gave up easy baskets throughout the game.
The game went back and forth in the fourth quarter but in the end Ellsworth came away with the 81-72 victory over Braham.
