Minnesota Pacesetters put on a boys basketball tournament on the campus of St Ben’s University in St Joseph, Minnesota. They invited the top teams from across the state to participate in a high school basketball tournament.
In the first game Braham took on Apple Valley. Braham looked to push the ball up the court from the beginning of the game. Both teams did a good job of defending the ball in the early goings of the game.
Tyus Jones from Apple Valley did a good job of running their offense. He was able to get his players into the positions where they needed to be on the court.
Apple Valley had a 27-18 lead over Braham at the end of the first quarter.
Apple Valley went on a run to open the second quarter. Braham didn’t back down they kept the pressure on Braham.
Apple Valley found their shot early on as they were able to go on a run in the second quarter. Tyus Jones’ shot was dead on. He was able to hit it from wherever he was in the first half.
Apple Valley went to a zone defense in the second quarter. They wanted to try to spread the Braham offense out.
On the offensive end Braham looked to swing the ball around the three-point line. They wanted to get the best shot they could.
Braham went on a run late in the second quarter. They were to get Apple Valley out of their rhythm on the offensive end.
At halftime the score was Apple Valley 47 and Braham 36.
Tyus Jones did a good job of blowing by his defender. He is a quick guard. Defenders have a hard time guarding
Tyus because of his quickness. Jones can just do so much with the ball and he knows the game.
Both teams looked to push the ball in transition. Apple Valley did a good job of scoring baskets in transition.
Braham did a good job of running their plays. They just had a hard time fishing plays.
At the end of the third quarter the score was Apple Valley 72 and Braham 54.
Apple Valley continued to flex its muscle in the fourth quarter. They didn’t back down to Braham’s pressure.
Apple Valley came away with the 91-77 victory over Braham.
