HOPKINS TOOK ON EASTVIEW IN THE PACESETTER SWEET SIXTEEN TOURNAMENT

In the Pacesetter championship game Hopkins took on Eastview. Both teams were aggressive from the beginning of the game. Both teams looked to push the ball up the court from the start of the game.

Hopkins was very aggressive to begin the game. They didn’t want to have Eastview go on any type of run to begin the game.

Joe Coleman led the charge early in the contest. On the offensive end he was able to make some nice open shots.

Eastview tried to swing the ball around the three point line as they were trying to take time off the clock.

At the end of the first quarter the score was Hopkins 17 and Eastview 8.

Eastview started out the second quarter in a zone defense. They wanted to spread Hopkins out as much as they could. They didn’t want to get into a foot race with Hopkins.

Eastview didn’t back down at all. They kept on fighting throughout the half. They didn’t back down from the Hopkins pressure.

Hopkins did a good job of knocking down shots throughout the first half. They also went to a zone defense late in the second quarter.

At halftime Hopkins had a 33-18 lead over Eastview.

Eastview wanted to come out and control the tempo of the game to begin the third quarter. Hopkins stayed in their zone defense.

Hopkins was overpowering for Eastview. The Eastview players couldn’t handle the Hopkins pressure they were putting on them.

Eastview did a good job of spreading the floor out. They wanted to try to get Hopkins out of their rhythm.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Hopkins 52 and Eastview 37.

Hopkins continued to play solid basketball throughout the third quarter. They were able to go on a run midway through the third quarter.

Hopkins was able to dominate Eastview throughout the game. Eastview didn’t give up and both teams played well. In the end Hopkins came away with the 69-48 victory over Eastview.
