SUTHERLAND RAIDERS TOOK ON ERROL CARLSTROM PLAYAZ

In the second game of the Howard Pulley Pro City Summer League on July 20, 2013 the Sutherland Raiders took on Errol Carlstrom Playaz. Errol Carlsrtom Playaz were awarded 10 points because the Sutherland Raiders were late to the game.
 
Because the Sutherland Raiders were late for the game they didn’t play the first quarter.
 
The Errol Carlstrom Playza looked to push the ball down the floor and get easy baskets in transition.
Trevor Mbakwe for Sutherland Raiders was camped out on the low block. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in the low post and he was able to get easy lay-ups in the low post area.
 
The score at halftime was Errol Calrstrom Playaz 35, Sutherland Raiders 25.
 
Sutherland Raiders came out flat in the third  quarter. They went on a scoring drought to open up the third quarter. They didn’t score a basket until the 8:00 mark of the quarter.
 
Both teams played with a lot of emotion and intensity throughout the game.
 
Mbakwe was all over the floor. He really played hard for his team. He knew where his teammates were on the floor and was able to call for the ball in the low block.
 
Cameron Rundles was all over the floor. On the offensive end he took the ball hard to the basket. He played with a lot of emotion and energy.
 
Both teams looked to score baskets in transition. They were able to get contested shots in transition.
 
Quinton Hooker suited up and he played for the Sutherland Raiders. Hooker drove to the basket hard and was able to make layups. Whenever Hooker was in the game he was an offensive presence.
 
Paris Kyles for Sutherland Raiders came up with some nice blocks in the third quarter.
 
Errol Carlstrom Playaz had a lead of 58-49 after three quarters of play.
 
As the fourth quarter got underway both teams stepped up the intensity. Neither team gave up easy baskets.
 
Mbakwe came away with some nice rebounds and put back layups in the fourth quarter. He was not afraid to go after the ball on both ends on floor.
 
The Sutherland Raiders continued to take their time of the offensive end. They used a lot of the shot clock up as they didn’t usually look to shoot the ball until they had less than 10 seconds left on the shot clock. They didn’t back down. They kept on fighting. They strung some baskets together late in the contest.
 
In a hard fought game Errol Calrstrom Playaz came away with the 85-79 victory over Sutherland Raiders.
