Minnehaha Academy squared off against Sauk Centre in the state Class 2A state semifinals.
The score went back and forth early in the contest.
Sauk Centre did a good job of pushing the ball down the floor and scoring baskets in transition.
Neither team went on a run in the first half.

Sauk Centre’s Maureen Thiesen, Maesyn Thiesen, Kelsey Peschel, Rebecca Weir and Jill Klaphake all came up with huge mid-range jump shots late in the first half.
There were multiple ties and lead changes throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.
At halftime the score was Sauk Centre 31, Minnehaha 29.
As the second half got underway Minnehaha came out on fire. They pushed the ball down the floor and were able to come up with mid-range jump shots and jumpers.
The score continued to go back and forth throughout the second half. Neither team went on a huge run.
Minnehaha Academy’s Sarah Kaminski came up with some big shots throughout the game. The defense had a hard time slowing her down.
The score went back and forth late in the contest. There were several ties and lead changes throughout the second half.
Kaminski continued to get to the basket and come up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half.
The game came down to the wire.
Sauk Centre came away with the 54-49 victory over Minnehaha Academy.
The leading scorers for Minnehaha were Sarah Kaminski with 14 points and Gracia Gilreath with 12 points.
