CROWN COLLEGE WENT UP AGAINST HAMLINE UNIVERSITY IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Sept. 3, Crown College and Hamline University squared off in a football game. Crown kicked off to start the game.

Hamline started the game on their own 30-yard line. Hamline kept the ball on the ground. They used mostly running plays on their first drive. Hamline’s Nick Kampa came up with the ball and was able to make short runs down the field. On 4th-and-1 Hamline went for it and they came up short.

Crown took over on their own 1-yard line. The Hamline defense was able to slow down Crown offense. On 4th-and-15 Crown punted the ball.

Hamline took over on their own 40-yard line.

Hamline called a timeout with 8:25 left in the first quarter. 


Hamline’s Harrison Jones came up with a 39-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.

With 6:57 left in the first quarter the score was Hamline 7, Crown 0. 


Crown fumbled the ball after the kick off and Hamline recovered the ball on the Crown 10-yard line.

Crown took over on their own 10-yard line. Crown kept the ball on the ground as they looked to get past the Hamline offense. On 4th-and-2 Crown punted the ball.

Hamline started on their own 1-yard line. Hamline kept on going back and forth between their running attack and passing routes. On 4th-and-4 Hamline punted the ball.

After one quarter of play the score was Hamline 7, Crown 0. 


Crown’s Terrell Thomas came up with short receptions. Crown punted the ball on 4th-and-4.

Hamline took over on their own 12-yard line. Hamline’s Naji El-Araby came up with 46-yard run for a first down. Hamline kept pushing the ball down the field. Hamline’s Josiah Harris came up with a 22-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. With 9:48 left in the second quarter the score was Hamline 14, Crown 0.

The ball went into the end zone so Crown took over on their own 20-yard line. Crown tried to go to the air as they looked to get all of their receivers involved in the offense.

Crown’s Trey Peace came up with some big receptions as they looked to push the ball down the field. Crown’s Chad Anenson attempted a 20-yard field goal attempt which was good.

With 3:44 left in the second quarter the score was Hamline 14, Crown 3.

Hamline took over on their own 25-yard line. Hamline push the ball down the field as they were able to get their running game going. Hamline Spriggs came up with some big rushes.

Hamline called a timeout with 1:15 left in the second quarter. The score was Hamline 14, Crown 3.

Hamline looked to get the ball into the end zone late in the second quarter. Hamline found the end zone on a 1-yard touchdown run by Spriggs. The extra point attempt was not good.

That made the score Hamline 20, Crown 3. That was the score at halftime.

Hamline kicked off to start the third quarter. The ball went out of bounds and Crown took over on their own 35-yard line. Crown rushed the ball down the field. Peace continued to come up with big plays. He was able to make first downs on their first drive of the third quarter. Crown found the end zone on a Matt Michaud 2-yard run. Hamline’s Anthony Hill blocked the extra point attempt and ran it in for a touchdown. With 9:55 left in the third quarter. Hamline 20, Crown 9.

Hamline got the ball back on the 36-yard line. Hamline scored on a 36-yard touchdown reception as Spriggs found Harris in the end zone. The extra point attempt was good. With 8:00 left in the third quarter the score was Hamline 29, Crown 9.

Crown got the ball back after the touchdown. Hamline intercepted a pass and got the ball back with 5:55 left in the third quarter. Hamline couldn’t get a first down so they punted on 4th-and-8.

Crown was intercepted by Zach Schwalbach. Hamline looked to get the ball into the end zone late in the third quarter.

After three quarters of play the score was Hamline 29, Crown 9.


Hamline punted the ball on 4th-and-18. Crown wasn’t able to move the ball down the field, they elected to punt the ball on 4th down.

Hamline continued to move the ball down the field. Hamline turned the ball over on downs. Crown took over on their own 15-yard line. Hamline intercepted the ball on the 29-yard line. And then time ran out of the game.

Hamline came away with the 29-9 victory over Crown.
