HOLY ANGELS TOOK ON MINNETONKA IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL MATCH UP

Holy Angels took on Minnetonka in boys’ basketball. Coming into the game Holy Angels had a record of 1-5 and Minnetonka had a record of 3-3.

Both of these teams looked to push the ball up the court from the beginning of the game. Minnetonka was able to knock down shots from the beginning of the game. Holy Angels did not start off shooting the ball well. With 14:30 Sam Gullickson knocked down the first shot for Holy Angels.

Holy Angels found their rhythm early in the first half. Even though they started off the game not making shots they just had to warm up. Minnetonka came out strong where they were able to slow Holy Angels down at the beginning of the game.

Holy Angels did look to get the ball out and push the ball in transition. They wanted to cut into the Minnetonka lead midway through the first half.

Minnetonka kept on hitting shots that they were putting up in the first half. Holy Angels had a hard time defending the Minnetonka shooters.

At half time the score was Minnetonka 40 and Holy Angels 26.

As the second half got going both teams were able to come out and play very good defense.

Holy Angles wanted to keep chipping away at the Minnetonka lead. They kept playing hard.

Minnetonka went into a stall on the offensive end. They forced Holy Angels to guard them. Minnetonka wanted to burn as much time off the clock as they could.

With 8:24 left in regulation the score was Minnetonka 56 and Holy Angels 46.

Minnetonka took it to Holy Angels late in the second half. Holy Angels was not able to make shots throughout the game.

With 2:01 left in regulation the score was Minnetonka 74 and Holy Angels 58.

Minnetonka was able to come away with the victory in this game. They had the lead for the whole game. They didn’t back down to Holy Angels. Holy Angels did play hard the whole game but they were just not able to make shots at the beginning of the game.

Minnetonka was able to come away with the 78-63 victory over Holy Angels.
