EL-AMIN FISH HOUSE TOOK ON J.M TIME IN THE FIRST GAME OF THE JUNE MILLER PRO CITY LEAGUE

It was El-Amin Fish House versus J.M. Time in the first game of the 2010 June Miller Pro City League. The June Miller (J.M.) Time team is made up of the of the Howard Pulley 17 U top AAU team. The El-Amin Fish House team is sponsored by the Khalid Amin family. His family owns a fish house in North Minneapolis. The J.M. Time team is sponsored by one of Renee Pulley’s family members who passed away last year. Other than the J.M Time team this is the first time these teams in the league have played each other.

The Fish House team was able to get a 9-2 lead early in the first quarter. They moved the ball around the court well. J.M. Time had a hard time making baskets throughout the first quarter.

Isaiah Zierdan made some nice shots in the first quarter. He was in the right place and the right time. He knew where he was on the floor and he was able to ask for the ball and make the shots he was putting up.

At the end of the first quarter the score was El-Amin Fish House 29 and June Miller Time 18.

As the second quarter got underway both teams played really aggressively. They went at each other and dove on the ground for loose balls. June Miller Time had a rough time finding the basket in the first half as their shots were not falling. They didn’t get discouraged and kept on fighting and taking their shots.

Royce White played well throughout the first half. He made aggressive moves to the basket. He didn’t seem winded at all. He played aggressively on the defensive end.

Isaiah Zierdan caught fire midway through the second quarter. He made three consecutive three point shots and then a nice assist on his next play. He put a spark in his team when needed.

At halftime the score was El-Amin Fish House 60 and June Miller Time 45.

As the third quarter got underway the El-Amin Fish House came out and played a zone defense. June Miller Time didn’t get it and they dribbled right into the heart of the defense which created turnovers.

El-Amin Fish House went on a run midway through the third quarter. They were able to make all the shots that they put up.

Brenson McNeal made some nice baskets in the open court. He got the ball and went strong to the basket hard with it.

Jacob Thomas for El-Amin Fish House found his rhythm late in the third quarter. He was able to knock down shots with ease.

At the end of the third quarter the score was El-Amin Fish House 82 and June Miller Time 62.

As the fourth quarter got underway the pace of the game quickened. Each team played at a quick pace. It wasn’t sloppy but it was quick.

The El-Amin Fish House was a much quicker and faster team. June Miller Time didn’t give up and fought really hard throughout the game.

The El-Amin Fish House came away with the 115-89 victory over the June Miller Team.

The leading scorers for El-Amin Fish House were Royce White 22, Isiaha Thomas 21and Steve Neal with 16 points. The leading scorers for the June Miller team were Joe Coleman 23, Bretson McNeal 22 and Marvin Singleton 13.
