ERROL CARLSTROM PLAYAZ TOOK ON PAT MADISON MAGIC

The Errol Carlstrom Playaz took on Pat Madison Magic in the 2010 June Miller Pro City League. For the Pat Madison Magic new University of Minnesota recruits Mavrick Ahanmisi, Elliott Elliason, Otto Osenieks, and Austin Hollins were all on the same team.

Trevor Mbwake for the Errol Carlstorm Playaz played hard from the beginning of the game. He started the game with a few nice slam dunks.

Pat Madison Magic went on a run to open up the game. Errol Carlstrom Playaz had a hard time finding the basket in the early goings of the first quarter.

At the end of the first quarter the score was Errol Carlstrom Playaz 27 and Pat Madison Magic 20.

Austin Hollins was really able to push the ball up the court. He had good ball handling skills. He was also able to find an open teammate and passed the ball to him in the open court and get the assist.

Pat Madison Magic went on a run midway through the second quarter. They were able to shut down Errol Carlstrom Playaz for a good portion of the second quarter. But that didn’t slow down the Errol Carlstrom Playaz as they continued to play hard.

At the half the score was Errol Carlstrom Playaz 53 and Pat Madison Magic 43.

Both teams played defense in the half court for most of the game. Neither team looked to use the full court press. I don’t think that the full court press would have been effective in this game because of the pace. Both teams really wanted to control the tempo and use a quick pace. As soon as the ball got out of the net and they looked to get the ball up the court the other way.

The lead for Errol Carlstrom Playaz grew through the second half grew. They really had fun playing together out there.

I was also impressed by the play of the University of Minnesota Gopher recruits Mavrick Ahanmisi, Elliott Elliason, Otto Osenieks, and Austin Hollins. I really thought that they all played very well. This is the first time that I have seen these guys play.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Errol Carlstrom Playaz 80 and Pat Madison Magic 65.

As the fourth quarter got underway Pat Madison Magic went on a run. They were able to cut into the deficit and with 5:00 left to go in the contest the score was Errol Carlstrom Playaz 91 and Pat Madison Magic 82.

The final score was Errol Carlstom Playaz 107 and Pat Madison Magic 97.
