BEMIDJI STATE WENT UP AGAINST ST. CLOUD STATE IN A FOOTBALL GAME

Bemidji State and St. Cloud State went up against each other in a football game on Nov. 1.

Going into the game Bemidji State came into the game with a record of 3-5 and were 3-1 in the NSIC North. St. Cloud State came into the game with a record of 3-5 and were 2-2 in the NSIC North.

St. Cloud State kicked off to start the game. The ball went into the end zone and was a touchback.

Bemidji State started on the 25 yard line. Bemidji State looked to keep the ball on the ground on their first series. On fourth-and-15 Bemidji State punted the ball. There was no return on the play.

St. Cloud State started on the 50 yard line. St. Cloud State starting quarterback was Nate Meyer.

Meyer was not afraid to use both the passing and running attack early. Taylor Berger came up with a first down reception. Jaden Huff ran 37 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was no good.

With 12:29 left in the first quarter the score was St. Cloud State 6, Bemidji State 0.

The kickoff went into the end zone for a touchback. Bemidji State took over on the 25 yard line.

Bemidji State was intercepted by Adam Josephson. St. Cloud State took over on the Bemidji State’s 30 yard line. Donte Starlin-Merriam came up with a first down run. Starlin-Merriam ran for three yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 9:39 left in the first quarter was good. The score was St. Cloud State 13, Bemidji State 0.

The ball went into the end zone for a touchback.

Bemidji State took over on the 25 yard line. Bemidji State’s quarterback Jordan Hein had looked to get the ball into the hands of Jordan Noskowiak for a first down. Bemidji State used both the run and pass attack on the drive. On fourth-and-12 Bemidji punted.

St. Cloud State took over on their own nine yard line. Matt Hentges came up with a huge reception for a first down.

St. Cloud State called a timeout with 3:41 left in the first quarter. The score was St. Cloud State 13, Bemidji State 0.

St. Cloud State’s Kasai Farris came up with a huge first down reception.

After one quarter of play the score was St. Cloud State 13, Bemidji State 0.

St. Cloud looked to get the ball into the end zone to start the second quarter. St. Cloud State attempted a 16-yard field goal which was good.

With 11:38 left in the second quarter the score was St. Cloud State 13, Bemidji State 0.

Bemidji State took over on their own 24 yard line. Bemidji State punted on fourth-and-long.

St. Cloud State took over on the 42 yard line. Berger came up with a 33-yard reception. Meyer came up with a nine-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 9:08 left in the second quarter the score was St. Cloud State 23, Bemidji State 0.

Bemidji State took over on the 35 yard line. Bemidji State couldn’t move the ball down the field. On fourth-and-eight they elected to punt the ball.

St. Cloud State took over near midfield. The St. Cloud State offense stalled and they turned it over on downs.

Bemidji State got the ball back and Hein they looked to move the ball down the field. On fourth-and-eight to go Bemidji State went for it. Bemidji State wasn’t able to get a first down so they turned it over on downs.

St. Cloud State took over on their own 35 yard line. St. Cloud marched down the field late in the second quarter. St. Cloud State looked to the end zone late in the quarter.

St. Cloud called a timeout with 2:58 left in the second quarter. The score was St. Cloud State 23, Bemidji State 0.

On fourth-and-15 St. Cloud State attempted a field goal. The field goal attempt was no good.

Bemidji State took over on the 20 yard line.

Bemidji State looked to move the ball down the field.

Bemidji State called a timeout with 1:01 left in the second quarter. Bemidji State Hein found Holder for a 17-yard touchdown reception.

With 47 seconds left in the first quarter the score was St. Cloud State 23, Bemidji State 6. That was the score at halftime.  

Bemidji State kicked off to start the third quarter. St. Cloud State started on their 23 yard line.

Bemidji State got a safety with 12:53 in the third quarter.

St. Cloud State 23, Bemidji State 8 was the score after the safety.

St. Cloud State had difficulty moving the ball. On fourth down St. Cloud State punted the ball.

Bemidji State took over on their 25 yard line. Bemidji State punted on fourth down.

St. Cloud State got the ball back and looked to move the ball. St. Cloud State punted on fourth-and-two.

Bemidji State took over on their own 12 yard line. Bemidji State punted on fourth-and-two.

St. Cloud State got the ball back and Nate Miller found Taylor Burger who came up with a 70-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 6:16 left in the third quarter the score was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 8.

Bemidji State took over after the touchdown. On fourth-and-10 Bemidji State punted.

St. Cloud State took over on the 12 yard line. The Bemidji State defense stepped up and was able to stop the St. Cloud State defense. St. Cloud State punted the ball on fourth down. Bemidji State fumbled the ball and St. Cloud State recovered the ball.

St. Cloud State punted on fourth-and-long.

Bemidji State took over near mid field. They couldn’t move the ball down the field. Bemidji State punted on fourth-and-18.

St. Cloud State took over on their own 15 yard line.

After three quarters of play the score was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 8.

St. Cloud State called a timeout with 12:31 left in the fourth quarter. The score was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 8.

St. Cloud State punted the ball on fourth-and-long. The ball went into the end zone for a touchback.

Bemidji State looked to get the ball down the field as they looked to get the ball into the end zone.

Bemidji State found the end zone on a Tahi Nomane on a seven-yard run. The extra-point attempt was no good.

With 8:22 left in the fourth quarter was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 14.

Bemidji State got the ball back on a fumble on the kick off. Bemidji State found the end zone on a
Hein 10-yard pass to Josh Genske for a touchdown. The two-point conversion run by Nomane was no good.

With 6:17 left in the fourth quarter the score was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 20.

St. Cloud State looked to the air as they wanted to keep the offensive rhythm going.

Bemidji State called a timeout with 4:37 left in the fourth quarter. The score was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 20.

St. Cloud State punted on fourth-and-five. Bemidji State took over on the three yard line.

Bemidji State looked to get the ball down to the end zone late in the game. Bemidji State end zone on a Holder touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 1:11 left in the fourth quarter the score was St. Cloud State 30, Bemidji State 27.

St. Cloud took over on the 50 yard line. They didn’t run a play.

St. Cloud State came away with the 30-27 victory over Bemidji State.

Berger and Starlin-Merriam talked to the media after the game. On the Bemidji State defense,
Berger said that he,” Wants to get the last two wins of the season.”

St. Cloud State head coach Scott Underwood said, “That they had good energy though out the game”.
Starlin-Marriam talked about his touchdown. He said he, “Followed blocks to get into the end zone. Ran Power a lot.”
