ST. CLOUD CATHEDRAL WENT UP AGAINST PIERZ IN A FOOTBALL GAME

In the Section 5 Class 3A football final Pierz went up against St. Cloud Cathedral at St. Cloud State University.

Pierz kicked off to Cathedral to start the game. Cathedral was able to move the ball down the field early.

The Pierz defense stepped up big as they slowed down the Cathedral running backs. On fourth-and-long Cathedral punted the ball.

Pierz kept the ball on the ground in the first quarter. Pierz running back Noah Boser came up with some big runs. Robert Skiba ran 19 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 3:29 left in the first quarter the score was Pierz 7, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral looked to move the ball down the field. Cathedral was intercepted by Michael Meyer.

Boser came up with a 27-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was no good.

With 2:14 left in the first quarter the score was Pierz 13, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral got the ball after the touchdown. Pierz’s Kolton Eischens intercepted a pass and ran it back 32 yards for a touchdown.

The extra-point attempt was good.

With 2:05 left in the first quarter the score was Pierz 20, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral was picked off by Skiba.

Cathedral called a timeout with 1:24 left in the first quarter.

Pierz looked to get the ball into the hands of Skiba. Skiba was able to get past the defenders and find open spaces to run.

After one quarter of play the score was Pierz 20, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral looked to get something going offensively. Dominic Austing came up with some big plays.

On fourth-and-10 they went for it but were not able to get a first down. St. Cloud Cathedral turned it over on downs.

Pierz got the ball on their own 38 yard line. The offense moved the ball down the field well. Skiba ran 73 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 10:37 left in the second quarter the score was Pierz 27, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral looked to go deep but were not able to move the ball. On fourth-and-10 Cathedral punted the ball. The ball went into the end zone for a touchback.

Pierz’s Jonathan Kasper looked to find running room in the defense as he looked to turn up field.

Pierz called a timeout with 4:27 left in the second quarter.

Kasper ran four yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 3:27 left in the second quarter the score was Pierz 34, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral got the ball back after the touchdown. Pierz’s Myer intercepted a pass ran it for 15 yards.

Kolton Eischens came up with a 20-yard reception.

At halftime the score was Pierz 34, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral kicked off to start the third quarter. Pierz’s Skiba kept on coming up with the ball. He was able to find holes in the defense. Pierz did a good job of getting the ball into the running backs hands. Everyone got the ball on the offensive end. Skiba ran 23 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 7:15 left in the third quarter the score was Pierz 41, Cathedral 0.

Cathedral got the ball back after the touchdown. Cathedral’s Matson Courrier caught a 34-yard first down reception. Quarterback Austing looked to complete passes late in the third quarter. On fourth-and-five Cathedral called a timeout. After the timeout Cathedral went for it but came up short.

Pierz took over on their own 5 yard line. Skiba came up with a 49-yard first down run. Boser came up with a one-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 11 seconds left in the third quarter the score was Pierz 48, Cathedral 0. That was the score after three quarters.

Cathedral looked to move the ball in the fourth quarter. Cathedral’s Brady Buckentine ran for 31 yards for a first down.

Cathedral called a timeout with 6:21 left in the fourth quarter.

On fourth-and-two Cathedral went for it but came up short.

Pierz came away with the 48-0 victory over Cathedral.
