MARANATHA CHRISTIAN ACADEMY WENT UP AGAINST MINNEOTA IN THE GIRLS STATE CLASS A SEMIFINAL GAME

Maranatha Christian Academy went up against Minneota in a Class A state girls’ semifinals. The score went back and forth early in the contest.

Neither team went on a run early. There were many ties and lead changes throughout.

Maranatha used both man-to-man and zone defense in the first half.

Minneota’s Taylor Reiss came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. Her teammates did a good job of getting her the ball where she could shoot it.

There was a media timeout with 6:43 left in the first half. The score was Maranatha 29, Minneota 23.

Maranatha got everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense.

Minneota had a difficult time shooting the ball late in the first half. Maranatha took advantage of that as they were able to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

At halftime the score was Maranatha 40, Minneota 33.

As the second half got underway Maranatha continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to get Lexi Lee the ball. Lee was able to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

Maranatha came up with some huge baskets to open the second half up. Lee and teammate Alaina
Jarnot continued to come up with huge baskets in the second half.

Jarnot stepped up big as she was able to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

Maranatha came away with the 76-69 victory over Minneota.

The leading scorers for Minneota were Emily Stienessen and Riss both with 21 points.

The leading scores for Maranatha were Lee with 28 points, Alaina Jernot with 17 points, and Jaclyn Jernot with 13 points.
