WEST LUTHERAN TOOK ON SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

West Lutheran and Southwest Christian went up against each other in a boys basketball game. Each team looked to score baskets on the fast break.
 
West Lutheran started the game in a zone defense. They wanted to make Southwest Christian shoot long shots.
 
West Lutheran had trouble shooting the ball in the early goings. Southwest Christian came up with rebounds.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.
 
At halftime the score was Southwest Christian 36, West Lutheran 28.
 
As the second half got underway Southwest Christian came out on fire. They were able to move the ball well down the floor and were able to get their offense going.
 
West Lutheran came out flat as they were not able to get into an offensive rhythm early in the second half.  
 
Southwest Christian went to a half court man-to-man defense in the second half. They were able to slow down the West Lutheran offense.  
 
West Lutheran did play with a lot more energy midway through the second half.
 
Southwest Christian was able to turn West Lutheran over and they were able to score on the turnovers.
 
Southwest Christian’s Jack Jenson and Brett Reinhart were all over the floor. On the offensive end they knew where they could hit shots. They both came up with big shots in the contest.
 
West Lutheran couldn’t hang with the speed of Southwest Christian, as they were too quick.
 
Southwest Christian came away with the 72-50 victory over West Lutheran.
 
The leading scorers for West Lutheran were Will Steffel with 14 and Paul Draeger with 13 points.
 
The leading scorers for Southwest Christian were Jenson with 22 points and Reinhart with 21 points.
