EAST RIDGE TOOK ON MAPLE GROVE IN THE STATE CLASS 6A SEMIFINALS IN STATE FOOTBALL

On Nov. 6, East Ridge kicked off to Maple Grove to start the game.  Maple Grove looked to keep the ball on the ground early. On 4th down they punted it.
 
East Ridge looked to get the ball into the end zone early in first quarter. East Ridge attempted a 24-yard field goal which was good.
 
With 7:27 left in the first quarter the score was East Ridge 3, Maple Grove 0.
 
Maple Grove took over on their own 23-yard line. Maple Grove kept the ball on the ground on their drive. Maple Grove’s Isaac Collins came up with some huge runs. He was able to move the ball down the field. On 4th-and-13 Maple Grove punted it.
 
East Ridge full back Connor Mohs came up with some huge runs that kept his team in the game.
 
East Ridge called a timeout with 15 seconds left in the first quarter the score was East Ridge 3, Maple Grove 0.
 
On 4th-and-3 East Ridge punted the ball.
 
Maple Grove started on their own 1-yard line. East Ridge’s Sam Schiller intercepted a pass that gave East Ridge the ball back.
 
East Ridge kept the ball on the ground as they looked to march down the field. East Ridge found the end zone on a 1-yard run by Brock Albrecht. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 9:36 left in the second quarter the score was East Ridge 10, Maple Grove 0.
 
Maple Grove took over on their own 31-yard line.  Maple Grove kept the ball on the ground as they looked to move the ball down the field. On 4th-and-1 Maple Grove punted the ball.
 
East Ridge continued to move the ball down the field. Connor Mohs came up with a huge run that led into a first down.
 
Maple Grove called a timeout with 5:18 left in the second quarter. The score was East Ridge 10, Maple Grove 0.
 
East Ridge looked to get into the end zone late in the second quarter. East Ridge found the end zone on a 2-yard run by Otumus Payemanue. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 3:20 left in the second quarter the score was East Ridge 17, Maple Grove 0.
 
Maple Grove started on their own 34-yard line.  Maple Grove’s Isaac Collins came up with some huge holes to run through. The defense had a hard time slowing him down. Maple Grove’s quarterback Brad Davison found holes in the offense and came up with huge runs.
 
East Ridge called a timeout with 32 seconds left in the second quarter. The score was East Ridge 17, Maple Grove 0.
 
Maple Grove looked to get into the end zone late in the second quarter. Brad Davison found Will Reul in the end zone for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was no good.
 
With 18 seconds left in the second quarter the score was East Ridge 17, Maple Grove 6.
 
That was the score at halftime.  
 
Maple Grove kicked off to start the third quarter. East Ridge took over on their own 45-yard line.
 
East Ridge kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. East Ridge fumbled the ball.
 
Maple Grove took over on their own 20-yard line. Maple Grove's Luckas Burrington came up with an 80-yard touchdown run.
 
The extra point attempt was not good. With 8:16 left in the third quarter the score was East Ridge 17, Maple Grove 12.
 
East Ridge punted the ball on 4th-down. 
 
Maple Grove took over on their own 23-yard line. Maple Gove moved the ball down the field on short runs. Maple Grove found the end zone on a 2-yard run by Brad Davison. The two-point conversion was good.
 
With 1:23 left in the third quarter the score was Maple Grove 20, East Ridge 17.
 
East Ridge took over on their 34-yard line. East Ridge looked to get into the end zone.
 
After three quarters of play the score was Maple Grove 20, East Ridge 17.
 
East Ridge looked to air the ball out early in the fourth quarter. East Ridge punted on 4th down
 
Maple Grove took over on their own 24-yard line. Maple Grove fumbled the ball and East Ridge recovered.
 
East Ridge’s Domink London ran 21 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 8:53 left in the fourth quarter the score was East Ridge 24, Maple Grove 20.
 
The ball went into the end zone. Maple Grove kept the ball on the ground.
 
Maple Grove kept the ball on the ground. On 4th-and-14 they punted the ball.
 
East Ridge took over on their own 25-yard line. East Ridge kept the ball on the ground late in the game. They took time off the clock late in the game. East Ridge punted on 4th down.
 
Maple Grove took over on their own 20-yard line as time ran out.
 
East Ridge came away with the 24-20 victory over Maple Grove
