Minneapolis Washburn and Anoka squared off against each other at St. Cloud State University in the boys' Class 2A state soccer tournament.
Washburn was all over the field as they were able to spread Anoka out. Anoka was able to get the ball down the field and were able to come up with some shots on goal.
Anoka’s Connor Schaaf scored a goal with 21:22 left in the first half. With that goal that made the score Anoka 1, Washburn 0.
Washburn continued to look to get the ball into the goal late in the first half.
At halftime the score was Anoka 1, Washburn 0.
As the second half got going Schaaf came up with another goal with 36:05 left in the second half.
With that goal that made the score Anoka 2, Washburn 0.
Washburn continued to move the ball down the field well as they looked to get on the board midway through the second half.
Washburn got on the board with 10:07 left in the second half on a goal by Jaun Louis. Cooper Wells had the assist.
With that goal that made the score Anoka 2, Washburn 1.
Anoka came away with the 2-1 victory over Washburn.
