Goodhue took on Barnesville in the class A state football semifinal game in the Minnesota State High School League football state tournament.
Barnesville kicked off to Goodhue to begin the game. On the second play of the drive Goodhue got intercepted and Barnesville got the ball back.
Goodhue went to the air early. They spread out their receivers as they looked to the air on their first drive of the game. Goodhue was not able to get a first down on the drive and they had to punt the ball to Barnesville.
Barnesville got the ball after the Goodhue turnover. Zach Hochhalter found the end zone on a 29 yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.
With 4:32 left to go in the first quarter the score was Barnesville 7 and Goodhue 0.
Goodhue got the ball back after the Barnesville touchdown. Goodhue was all over the field. They used both their running game and their passing game in the first quarter. They wanted to try to get Barnesville off guard.
Goodhue Ross Schrimpf received a 22-yard touchdown reception with 2:36 left to go in the first quarter. Ross also kicked the extra point attempt.

Barnesville’s Austin Martz got an 82 yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. With that touchdown the score was Barnesville 14 and Goodhue 7.
Goodhue got the ball back after the Barnesville touchdown. Goodhue looked for their receivers deep late in the first quarter. Austin Martz for Barnsville came up with an interception late in the quarter to give Burnsville the ball back. Adam Rice got a 79 yard touchdown run with 25 seconds left to go in the quarter. The extra point attempt was good.
With 25 seconds left to go in the first quarter the score was Barnesville 21 and Goodhue 7.

Goodhue got the ball to begin the second quarter. They were successful on the short drives down the field. Goodhue did have trouble finding the end zone in the first half but they kept battling back.
Barnesville was able to hold Goodhue offense in check in the second quarter. They were able to turn them over on downs.
Barnesville was picked off by Ross Schrimph with 9:23 left to go in the second quarter.
Goodhue’s Ross Schrimph came up with some big plays in the first half. He was all over the field. He played on both sides of the ball.
Goodhue kept attacking down the middle of the field. Goodhue’s Ashton Erie received a 27-yard reception for a touchdown with 6:04 left in the second quarter. Ross Schrimph kicked the extra point attempt and that was good. With 6:04 left to go in the second quarter the score was Barnesville 21 and Goodhue 14.
Barnesville got the ball back after the Goodhue touchdown. Barnesville looked to score and Zach Hochalrter was able to score untouched with a 9- yard touchdown run with 4:22 left to go in the quarter. The extra point attempt was good.
With 4:22 left to go in the second quarter the score was Burnsville 28 and Goodhue 14.
Goodhue got the ball back after the Barnesville touchdown. Goodhue was not able to convert on fourth down and they had to punt the ball back to Barnesville.

Goodhue kicked off to Barnesville to start the third quarter. Adam Rice got the ball to begin the third quarter. He was all over the field. Adam fumbled the ball and Goodhue recovered the ball.
Goodhue got the ball after the fumble. Jeremy Schrimpf continued to tear up yards. His teammates looked for him to run with the ball when Goodhue was on offense. Jeremy Schrimph scored on a 32 yard touchdown run with 8:27 left to go in the third quarter. The extra point attempt by Ross Schrimph was good.
With 8:27 left to go in the third quarter the score was Barnesville 28 and Goodhue 21.
Barnesville got the ball back after the Goodhue touchdown. Barnesville was drawn off sides. Robbie Strand got sacked by Goodhue. Barnesville had to punt the ball back to Goodhue.
Goodhue continued to pound the ball down the field. They were looking to get first downs late in the third quarter. Dustin Thomforde came up with a nice catch that gave Goodhue a first down. Goodhue attempted a field goal on fourth down. The attempt was good.
With 1:02 left to go in the third quarter the score was Barnesville 28 and Goodhue 24.
With 2 seconds left to go in the third quarter Adam Rice caught a 54-yard pass for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.
At the end of the third quarter the score was Barnesville 35 and Goodhue 24.
Goodhue got the ball back to begin the fourth quarter. Ross Schrimpf for Goodhue came up with a big reception. Barnesville’s defense stepped up big and they were able to stop Goodhue and created a turnover on downs.
Barnesville’s Zach Hochalter scored a touchdown on a 95-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. With 7:17 left to go in the (in the what?) score was Barnesville 42 and Goodhue 24.
Goodhue got the ball back after the touchdown. Goodhue’s Aston Erie came up with a huge reception late in the game. That gave his team a first down. Ross Schrimpf came up with a 6- yard touchdown reception with 3:58 left to go in the fourth quarter. The extra point attempt was no good.
With 3:58 left to go in the fourth quarter the score was Barnesville 42 and Goodhue 30.
Barnesville got the ball back after the Goodhue touchdown.
Adam Rice found the end zone again on a 26 yard scamper for a touchdown for Burnsville. The extra point attempt was good.
With 3:06 left to go in regulation the score was Barnesville 49 and Goodhue 30.
Barnseville was able to come away with the 49-30 victory over Goodhue.
