St. Paul Johnson went up against Onalaska out of Wisconsin in a boys' basketball game. The game got off to a slow start as it took awhile for each team to feel each other out.
Onalaska took their time on the offensive end. They passed the ball around the three-point line to take time off the clock.
Marcus Marteze Marshall took the ball down the court. He knew where his teammates were on the court. Marshall got them involved in the offense.
Johnson pushed the ball down the court in transition. They looked to get quick baskets and they were able to do that.
Matt Thomas for Onalaska got into the offensive groove as he was able to get a few of his shots to drop.
Marshall was all over the floor. He was able to get his shot going late in the first half.
Johnson went on a run late in the half.
At halftime the score was Onalaska 26 and St. Paul Johnson 22.
The second half started out on a quick pace. Both teams raced up and down the court scoring baskets in transition.
The score went back and forth for a good portion of the second half. The game was tight throughout the second half.
Johnson cranked up their defense a few notches in the second half as they made it more difficult for Onalaska to shoot the ball.
Neither team gave up easy shots.
Onalaska started the game out hot. They were able to get a big lead on St. Paul Johnson to start the game. Johnson did a good job of chipping away at the deficit.
Onalaska's Ben Socha made wining shot at the buzzer as Onalaska came away with the 61-59 victory over Johnson.
The leading scorers for Johnson were Marcus Marteze Marshall with 15 points, Bajuan Adams with 11 points and Quashingm Smith-Pugh with 10 points.
The leading scorers for Onalaska were Matt Thomas with 30 points, Clint Rihn with 11 points and Zach Schmidt with 10 points.
