EDINA TOOK ON HOLY FAMILY IN THE TWIN CITIES FALL LEAGUE
Edina played Holy Family in the Bloomington Fall League. Holy Family started out the game in a zone defense. Edina also started out the game in a zone defense.
Both teams looked to get the ball up the court quickly as the game had a fast pace from the start. Edina used a full court press early on. They wanted to get Holy Family out of the game from the beginning.
Both teams went to a full court press in the first half. They wanted to keep the pressure on each other throughout the first half.
Holy Family was able to get some steals in the first half and they were able to get down to their basket and score. Edina was not able to handle the ball.
Holy Family went to a wholesale substitution pattern late in the first half. They rotated everyone in and out of the game all at one time.
Both teams did a good job of going for the rebound. No one was afraid to go after the ball.
The pace of the game slowed a bit as the half went on. They still looked to push the ball up the court but as the game wore on the pace slowed down.
At halftime the score was Edina 29 and Holy Family 24.
As the second half got underway both teams came out with a lot of energy. Both teams continued to put the ball in transition.
The Holy Family guards looked to drive to the basket on transition. No matter who brought the ball up the court there was a good possibility that he was going right to the going to take the ball right to the basket.
Edina wanted to take their time on the offensive end. They looked to set up their offense and create plays out of that.
The score went back and forth throughout the second half. Both teams had their share of the lead.
Edina put together a nice sent of shots midway through the second half.
Edina was able to come away with the 48-41 victory over Holy Family.
