ELK RIVER VERSUS APPLE VALLEY – EAGLES SOAR TO SEMIS


The Apple Valley Eagles’ size, speed and shots proved to be too much for Elk River in a 6-0 win. The eagles extended their state-record winning streak to 45 consecutive wins.



Opening Act - Apple Valley's Nate Tenpas (#10) opened the scoring with a first period goal against Elk River in Minnesota 2A quarterfinal action. Teammate Tom Obarski (#3) was never far away from the goal, later scoring four goals to follow towards the Eagles 6-0 win.



In Sight - Elk River middlefielder Zach Holbrook kept the ball in his sights as he advanced it past Apple Valley's Simon Goetti in quarterfinal play.



O is for Offense - Apple Valley's Tom Obarski may as well have been called Tom Offense in this quarterfinal action. Tom O scored four goals and has this among many shots on goal, keeping Elk River goaltender Joey Petrich busy all night.




Knockin’ Eagles and Elks Heads - Eagles and Elk heads knocked in quarterfinal action. Eagles #4 Tom Obarski of Apple Valley, #2 Jeff Dennis and #24 Charles Quiram fo Elk River met to meet this header.


6 to 0 Equals 17 - Apple Valley's 6-0 win over Elk River was its 17th shutout of the season, impressively outscoring their opponents 89-4.
