Richfield took on Spring Lake Park in a football matchup at Richfield. Richfield came into the game with a record of 1-3 and Spring Lake Park came into the game with a record of 2-2.
Spring Lake Park kicked off to Richfield to begin the game. Richfield started on the 18-yard line. Richfield looked to Daron Garvis to run the ball early in the quarter. Richfield was intercepted by Andrew Tortora for Spring Lake Park.
Spring Lake Park got the ball after Totora’s interception. Jorde Ranum, the quarterback for Spring Lake Park was picked off by Phillip Peterson of Richfield.
Richfield got the ball back on their 19-yard line. Daron Garvis looked for the ball and was successful. Richfield also looked to air out the ball switching up their plays to get Spring Lake out of rhythm midway through the first quarter.
Phillip Peterson caught a long ball for Richfield to pick up a first down. Richfield did a good job of getting different players involved in the offense. Richfield had to punt the ball to Spring Lake Park because they were not able to convert on fourth down.
Spring Lake Park got the ball back and they tried running the ball and they were able to grind out a first down. Devon Richardson for Spring Lake Park came up with some nice catches late in the quarter to give the Panthers a first down. Spring Lake Park fumbled the ball and Richfield was able to recover the fumble.
At the end of the first quarter the score was Richfield 0 and Spring Lake Park 0.
Richfield’s Daron Garvis continued to carry the team as he was able to find holes in the Spring Lake Park defense. With 11:12 left to go in the first quarter Daron Garvis had a 27-yard touchdown run and Jordan Sefon’s extra point was good.
With 11:12 left to go in the first quarter the score was Richfield 7 and Spring Lake Park 0.
Spring Lake Park got the ball back after the Richfield touchdown. Spring Lake Park was not able to convert on downs and that gave Richfield the ball back.
Richfield tried to air out the ball and they were not successful and they had to punt the ball back to Spring Lake Park.
Spring Lake Park was able to get the ball into Andrew Tortora’s hands. Tortora was able to carry the ball down the field. Jorde Ranum scored a touchdown with 5:00 left to go in the quarter. Matt Fruzyna’s extra point attempt was good.
With 5:00 left remaining in the second quarter the score was tied at 7.
Richfield got the ball back after the Spring Lake Park touchdown. Richfield was on their four yard line. They wanted to get another first down before the quarter ended. Richfield had to punt the ball back to Spring Lake Park.
With 1:29 left to go Andrew Tortora got a 13 yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was not good.
With 1:29 left to go in the second quarter the score was Spring Lake Park 13 and Richfield 7.
In a half that went back and forth the halftime score was Spring Lake Park 13 and Richfield 7.
Richfield kicked off to Spring Lake Park to begin the third quarter. Spring Lake Park looked to run the ball early in the quarter. Spring Lake Park punted the ball to Richfield. Richfield fumbled the ball and Spring Lake Park’s Coleton Sunderland got the ball back on Richfield’s 36-yard line. Spring Lake Park looked to score midway through the third quarter.
Richfield was plagued with penalties in the third quarter. That gave Spring Lake Park decent field advantage. Spring Lake Park tuned the ball over on downs.
Richfield was back on their 15-yard line. They wanted to get a first down midway through the quarter but were not able to. They had to punt the ball away to Richfield with 5:19 left in the third quarter.
Spring Lake Park got the ball on the 15-yard line and they were knocking on the door on the end zone. With 3:57 left in the third quarter Jordan Thimmesch-Slepica slipped through the Richfield defenders. Devion Richardson made the two point conversion. After the touchdown the score was Spring Lake Park 21 and Richfield 7.
Richfield got the ball back after the Spring Lake Park touchdown. Richfield kept looking for Erik Jimson on the offensive end. Richfield continued to look for first downs.
Richfield got away from the running game early on in the second half. They were good on the running game and were successful at it in the first half. They got away from that in the second half.
At the end of the third quarter the score was Spring Lake Park 21 and Richfield 7.
Spring Lake Park got the ball to begin the fourth quarter. Richfield’s defense stepped up and was able to slow down Spring Lake Park. Richfield was picked off by Spring Lake Park’s Noah Waiwaiole with 9:35 left in the fourth quarter.
Spring Lake Park kicked off to Richfield and Spring Lake Park fumbled the ball and Richfield recovered the punt. Richfield’s Daron Garvis found the end zone on a 7-yard run. The extra point attempt was good.
With 6:43 left to go in the fourth quarter the score was Spring Lake Park 21 and Richfield

Spring Lake Park got the ball back after the Richfield touchdown. Spring Lake Park kept the ball on the ground and Richfield’s defense stepped up and was able to shut down the Spring Lake Park offense. Spring Lake Park had to punt the ball back to Richfield with 4:47 left in the fourth quarter.
Richfield got the ball back late in the quarter. Deshawn Jones came up with a huge reception late in the quarter for Richfield. Jones’s reception was caught on the 18-yard line. Richfield looked to get the ball into the end zone. Spring Lake Park’s defense came up big on fourth down and they were able to shut Richfield down. Richfield turned the ball over on downs.
Spring Lake Park was not able to convert on their series so they turned the ball over to Richfield.
Richfield looked to the end zone late in the contest as they looked for all ways to come up with a touchdown late in the contest. The game came down to the wire but Richfield was not able to score on their last drive.
Richfield got away from the short runs in the second half. They were not able to convert on downs. Spring Lake Park came up with some big plays throughout the game.
Spring Lake Park came away with the 21-14 victory over Richfield.
