OSSEO TOOK ON ROBBINSDALE ARMSTRONG IN THE MINNETONKA BOYS’ BASKETBALL FALL LEAGUE

Osseo took on Robbinsdale Armstrong in a boys’ basketball matchup in the Minnetonka fall league. Armstrong started out the game making two technical foul free throws. Osseo’s Jarrod Berven received a technical foul for dunking the ball in warm ups.

The game got off to a fast pace. Both teams looked to run the ball. Osseo started out playing man-to-man defense.

Osseo found their shot early as they looked to score baskets in transition. Armstrong wanted to slow Osseo down.

Both teams shot the ball well in the first half. Neither team was able to go on a run in the first half.

Both teams were able to match each other’s competitiveness in the first half. Armstrong was able to get a 25-19 lead with 6:30 left in the first half.

Osseo’s Jarrod Berven played well throughout the contest. He didn’t let the technical foul he received at the beginning of the game affect his play in the game. Jarrod Berven was able to knock down a few three-point shots in the first half. He was able to keep his team in the game.

Armstrong didn’t give up. They kept on fighting back. Both of these teams were evenly matched on both ends of the floor.

At halftime the score was Armstrong 33 and Osseo 31.

As the second half got underway each team picked up the defensive pressure. Both teams kept the ball for a while on the offensive end. They wanted to take time off the clock while getting into their offense.

Armstrong put together a nice run midway through the second half. Osseo was not able to make shots for a period of time. Osseo lost their composure a little bit in the second half.

In a good defensive battle I thought that both teams played well. The game was close through the whole game. I thought that Osseo relied on the three-point shot too much in the second half. They were shooting the shot too quickly and they were not that successful making that shot. Armstrong had good shot selection and they were able to make shots. Armstrong forced Osseo to make some crazy shots. That led to some missed chances to score on the offensive end.

Armstrong came away with the 72-61 victory over Osseo.
