CRETIN-DERHAM HALL TOOK ON DELASALLE IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Cretin-Derham Hall traveled to the island of DeLaSalle for a boys' basketball game. Cretin-Derham
Hall had a record of 18-5 coming into the game. DeLaSalle had a record of 21-3.

This was a much-anticipated match up of two programs known for their defense. It showed early in the
game.
 
Bretson McNeal for DeLaSalle opened the game with a deep three-point shot. From there both teams
clamped down on the defensive end.
 
DeLaSalle went on an 8-0 run to start the game. DeLaSalle used a motion offense. They looked to get
everyone involved in the play.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall came out cold. They couldn't make a shot. They made their first shot with 14:25
left in the half.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall looked to get the ball into the hands of Raijon Kelly. Kelly was all over the court.
 
His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball.
 
Jonah Travis for DeLaSalle stepped up big time. He was able to make shots from all over the court.
Travis was not afraid to ask for the ball anywhere on the court.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall got hot as they went on a run with just 12:00 left. They tied the game at 10 with
11:11 left.
 
Kelly took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to work hard to power up his shot in traffic. Kelley
was able to draw the foul.
 
Certin-Derham Hall went to a zone defense as they wanted to spread DeLaSalle out when they had the
ball. DeLaSalle took their time with the ball and that made Cretin-Derham Hall come out and guard
them behind the three-point line.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall took a timeout with 5:59 left in the first half. The score was tied at 17.
 
Kelly continued to shoot the ball well late in the half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the
ball on the court where he was good at making his shot.
 
At halftime the score was DeLaSalle 29 and Cretin-Derham Hall 23.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall stayed in their zone defense to begin the second half.   Riley Dearring came out on a tear as he took the ball strong to the basket.
 
Cortez Tillman went hard at the DeLaSalle defenders.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall took a timeout with 12:59 left in regulation with the score DeLaSalle 40 and
Cretin-Derham Hall 30.
 
DeLaSalle continued to pressure and bother Cretin-Derham Hall on the defensive end. Cretin-Derham
Hall didn't back down as they kept their pressure on.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall took a timeout with 4:37 left in regulation with the score DeLaSalle 55 and Cretin
Derham Hall 41.
 
I thought that Kelly did a good job of defending DeLaSalle. Kelly also impressed me on the offensive
end.
 
DeLaSalle was just too much for Cretin-Derham Hall. DeLaSalle came away with the 61-50 victory.
 
Jonah Travis had an outstanding game. He was all over the court. Travis led all scorers with 32 points.
 
The leading scorers for Cretin-Derham Hall were CJ Neuman with 16 points, Raijon Kelly with 13
points and Cortez with 13 points.
