JACKSON COUNTY CENTRAL TOOK ON MINNEHAHA ACADEMY IN THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ STATE BASKETBALL QUARTERFINAL GAME AT THE TARGET CENTER

The Jackson County Central Huskies took on the Minnehaha Academy Redhawks in the Class AAA
quarterfinal game at the Target Center.
 
The game was close throughout the first half. The score went back and forth in the early goings.
Jackson County Central wasn't afraid to shoot over people. They took the ball hard to the basket.
 
There were numerous ties and lead changes in the first half.
 
Minnehaha went to a zone defense. They looked to spread Jackson County Central out.
 
Sarina Baker had a few nice steals. It looked at times that she just took the ball away from the other
player. She was able to dribble down the whole court and go in for an uncontested layup.
 
At halftime the score was JCC 23 and Minnehaha Academy 22.
 
As the second half got underway Minnehaha took off. They were able to make a run at the start of the
half.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the second half.
 
Both teams were able to make a run at each other.
 
The game came down to the wire. Minnehaha came away with the 60-59 victory over Jackson County
Central.
