THE HUNTERS OF DULUTH CENTRAL GOT BEAT BY THE HUSKIES OF ANDOVER IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL NONCONFERENCE GAME

Duluth Central traveled to Andover for a boys' basketball game. Central came into the game with a
record of 16-7 and Andover came into the game with a record of 9-14.

Andover started the game in a zone defense. They also were able to find their shots as Andover got out
to a quick 6-4 lead with 15:00 left.
Andover went to a full court press. That gave Central some problems.

Central wanted to get the ball into the hands of Cortez Ham. On the offensive end Ham took the ball
hard to the basket. He knew where he was supposed to be on the court and his teammates did a good
job of getting him the ball.

The score went back and forth throughout the first half.

Andover's Tyler Hartmann took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to power the ball up through
traffic to make shots. Hartmann was posted on the low block.

Brady Johnson for Andover was able to make a few three-point shots in a row to give his team a boost.
Central had a hard time guarding him.

Andover strung some baskets together midway though the first half. Central didn't back down at all.

They kept the pressure on Andover making it hard for them to shoot the ball.

Central's Jeff Ohaju worked hard on both ends of the court. He was able to box out his defender. On the offensive end Ohaju got the ball on the box and took it hard to the basket.

Central tried to trap the ball in the corners. Andover did a good job of getting the ball out of the
corners so they were able to advert the press.

At halftime the score was Andover 35 and Duluth Central 23.

As the second half got underway Andover came out on fire. They were able to hit their shots that they
put up.

Central had a tough time making shots. They were not afraid to take shots, but they were not going in.

Central did try to make a comeback in the second half. Ohaju picked up a few charging calls by taking
the ball to the basket. He ran into the Andover defenders and was called for the charge.

Andover was too aggressive for Duluth Central. Central was not able to make shots that they were
putting up. Andover came away with the 72-54 victory over Duluth Central

The leading scorers Duluth Central were Derek Meger with 16 points and Cortez Ham with 11. The
leading scorers for Andover were Davis Johnson with 17 points and Jake Wagner with 13 points.
