NICOLLET TOOK ON MARANATHA IN THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE CLASS A GIRLS’ STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Nicollet and Maranatha Christian Academy took on each other in the Minnesota State High School
League Class A Championship game at the Target Center.

The game got off to a quick start as each team hit shots early on.

Nicollet came out in a zone defense. They looked to spread Maranatha out on the offensive end.

The score was tied at 15 with 6:58 left in the first half.

Each team played a very physical defense. Neither team got an easy shot.

Maranatha went on a little run late in the first half. After the Maranatha run Nicollet went on a little
run.

The game went back and forth throughout the first half. I thought both teams were evenly balanced.

At halftime the score was Maranatha 24 and Nicollet 21.

As the second half got underway Nicollet came out in a zone defense. They used the zone defense
throughout the second half.

Maranatha went on a run midway through the second half. Madson Lee was all over the court. She was
able make her shots that she took. That helped them go on a run in the second half.

The game came down the wire.

Maranatha came away with the 59-52 victory over Nicollet.
