BETHLEHEM ACADEMY AND MINNEOTA WENT UP AGAINST EACH OTHER IN THE CLASS A GIRLS BASKETBALL SEMI-FINALS

Bethlehem Academy took on Minneota in the class A semi-finals of the 2013 girls state basketball tournament. It took each team a while to get into an offensive shooting rythem.

At the first media timeout with 14:56 left in the first half the score was Minnetoa 2 Bethlehem Academy 1.

It was a defensive game from the start. Both teams played a lot of tough defensive pressure while they were on the defensive end.

Both teams were not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court.

There was a media timeout with 6:41 left in the first half. The score was Minneota 14 and Bethlehem Academy 9.

Both teams looked to take a lot of charges. There was a lot of body contact on both ends of the floor.

Minneota was able to string some baskets together late in first half.

At halftime the score was Minneota 19 and Bethlethem Academy 18.

As the second half got underway Taylor Reiss for Minneota was all over the flor. She was able to hit her shots that she put up. She was able to shoot both lay-ups and jump shots.

There was a media timeout with 9:55 left in regulation. The score was Minneota 31 and Bethlethem Academy 28.

Bot teams didn't give up any easy shots. Both teams had to work hard for shots that they took.

Minneota swung the ball around the three-point line to play keep away for the last two minutes of the contest.

It was a hard fought game. Neither team was able to go on a run.

Minneota came away with the 47-42 hard fought victory over Bethlethem Academy.

The leading scorer for Bethlethem Academy was Jessie Mathews scored 16 points.

The leading scorers for Minneota were Taylor Reiss with 22 points and Emily Stienessen with 14 points.
