Minneapolis
DeLaSalle took on Monticello in the semifinals of the Minnesota State
High School League tournament.
It took while for
each team to get into an offensive rhythm.
At the first media timeout with 13:45 left in the first half the score was
DeLaSalle 4 and Monticello 2.
DeLaSalle was
able to get into an offensive shooting rhythm as they were able to
share the ball and get everyone involved in the offense.
Monticello didn't
give up they kept on moving the ball around.
It was a
defensive battle was each team went back and forth throughout.
Monticello made a
run at DeLaSalle the score with 12:30 left in regulation was
DeLaSalle 42 and Monticello 25.
DeLaSalle did a
good job of spreading the ball around the three-point line and
getting into an offense. Tysenna Johnson was all
over the floor. She was able to make shots down the stretch.
DeLaSalle
was all over Monticello throughout the whole game.
DeLaSalle
was to strong for Monticello. In the end DeLaSalle came away with the overwhelming 67-42 victory over Monticello.
The
leading scorers for Monticello were Grace Sawatzke with 13 points and
Bailey Bechtold with 10 points.
The
leading scorers for DeLaSalle were Patiance Griffin with 18, Allina
Starr with 17 and Tyseanna Johnson with 15 points.
