CRISTO REY WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS EDISON IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 4 Cristo Rey and Minneapolis Edison squared off in a boys' basketball game.

Cristo Rey started in a zone defense. Cristo Rey’s Jericho Sims came up with a two handed slam dunk that got his team energy.

Edison called a timeout with 16:45 left in the first half. The score was Cristo Rey 4, Edison 0.

Cristo Rey started the game in a zone defense. They looked to force Edison to shoot 3-point shots.

Cristo Rey was able to score layups in transition. On the defensive end they were able to slow down the Edison offense.

Edison switched between man-to-man and zone defense throughout the first half. They

Cristo Rey called a timeout with 10:13 left in the first half. The score was Cristo Rey 14, Edison 7.

Cristo Rey played zone defense throughout the first half. They wanted to force Edison to take 3-point shots.

Edison looked to get into the lane and score layups and mid-range jump shots.

Cristo Rey came up with full court fast breaks.

At halftime the score was Cristo Rey 32, Edison 20.

As the second half got underway Edison looked to continue to look to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Cristo Rey called a timeout with 14:44 left in regulation. The score was Cristo Rey 36, Edison 26.

Cristo Rey kept on getting the ball into the hands of Sims and Karlton Gregory. Both of whom came up with huge baskets.

The Edison offense had a difficult time making shots that they put up in the second half. Even though they had a difficult time scoring they still kept on attacking the basket.

Cristo Rey came away with the 70-39 victory over Edison.

The leading scorers for Cristo Rey were Sims with 23 points and Karlton Gregory with 22 points.

The leading scorer for Edison was Travis Moore with 8 points.
