On January 16 Minnehaha Academy and Minneapolis North squared off in a boys' basketball game.
North looked to set the tempo early. North’s JaQuan Sanders-Smith came up mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
Minnehaha Academy played a zone defense. That made North have to take deep 3-point shots.
North called a timeout with 13:59 left in the first half. The score was North 11, Minnehaha 10.
North attacked the basket and came up with layups and jump shots.
North’s Isaac Johnson received a technical foul for saying something to the official.
Minnehaha called a timeout with 9:15 left in the first half. The score was North 21, Minnehaha 13.
Minnehaha came up with steals and were able to convert on the offensive end. Minnehaha’s Jalen
Suggs came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
Minnehaha called a timeout with 4:51 left in the first half. The score was North 31, Minnehaha 23.
North continued to push the ball down the floor and continued to come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
At halftime the score was North 46, Minnehaha 32.
As the second half got underway North continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition.

Minnehaha kept on attacking the basket as they looked for layups. They struggled to shoot the ball throughout the second half.
North came away with the 93-70 victory over Minnehaha.
