LEGACY CHRISTIAN WENT UP AGAINST ST. PAUL CENTRAL IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Legacy Christian and St. Paul Central squared off in a boys' basketball game. Both teams started off in a zone defense.
 
Legacy struggled to shoot the ball early in the game.
 
Central passed the ball around the 3-point line as they were able to get everyone involved in the offense.
 
Legacy called a timeout with 10:13 left in the first half. The score was Central 17, Legacy 6.
 
Central was able to come up with layups and jump shots in the first half.  
 
Legacy played a zone defense in the first half. They wanted to make Central shoot three-point shots.
 
Even though Legacy struggled to shoot the ball throughout the first half. They kept on shooting shots that they thought they could make.
 
Legacy got their offense going late in the first half. They were able to get their shots to drop.
 
Central kept attacking the basket as they were able to come up with layups and jump shots.
 
At halftime the score was Central 28, Legacy 23.
 
Legacy’s Josh Niessen came up with 3-point shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
Central’s Jon Gubbrud came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
After a slow start by Legacy, they were able to get their shots to drop. They took their time on the offensive end as they passed the ball around the 3-point line.
 
Central’s Abdikalak Muse came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
Legacy struggled to shoot the ball for a period of time in the second half. Central used that to their advantage as they were able to come up with shots.
 
Both teams picked up the scoring pace. There were many fast breaks midway through the second half.
 
Legacy’s Lucas Nelson came up with 3-point shots in the second half.
 
Central called a timeout with 8:49 left in regulation. The score was Central 49, Legacy 37.
 
Legacy’s Michael Stelly came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He was able to get to the basket and make shots. On the defensive end he was able to slow his man down.
 
Legacy struggled to shoot the ball throughout the second half. Even though they struggled to shoot it, they continued to look for their shots.
 
Central called a timeout with 2:00 left in regulation. The score was Central 59, Legacy 40.

Central came away with the 61-46 victory over Legacy.
 
The leading scorer for Central was Adbikalak with 15 points.
 
The leading scorer for Legacy was Nelson with 10 points.
 
The Steven’s Sports Report’s MVP’s of the game were Central’s Adbikalak and Legacy’s Nelson.
