Maple Grove and Roseville faced off in a state quarterfinal football game at TCF Bank Stadium.
Maple Grove kicked off to Roseville in the second quarterfinal game. Roseville got the ball on their own 30 yard line. Roseville used both the run and passing game. Jacques Para fumbled the ball and Peder Olson found the end zone for a touchdown on a 30 yard sprint to the end zone. The extra point attempt was good.
With 9:57 left in the first quarter the score was Maple Grove 7, Roseville 0.
Roseville got the ball back after the touchdown. They started their drive on their own 44 yard line.
Jacques Perra found Jesper Horsted for a 31-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.
With 8:51 left in the first quarter the score was tied at 7.
Maple Grove kept the ball on the ground for most of the first quarter. Maple Grove attempted a field goal with 4:30 left in the first quarter but it didn’t go through.
Roseville aired it out as they looked to get it into the end zone.
After one quarter of play the score was tied at 7.
Roseville’s Matthew Peckham picked up a two-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.
With 10:51 left in the first quarter the score was Roseville 14, Maple Grove 7.
Maple Grove Clark Wieneke was all over the field for his team. He was able to pick up a first down on a 15-yard rush.
Maple Grove turned the ball over on downs.
Roseville couldn’t move the ball on the next series and they turned it over on downs.
Maple Grove’s Wieneke found the end zone on a three-yard run. The extra point attempt was good.
With 1:37 left in the second quarter the score was tied at 14
Roseville’s Perra found Horsted for a two-yard touchdown catch. The extra point attempt was good.
The score at halftime was Roseville 21, Maple Grove 14.
Roseville kicked off to start the third quarter. Maple Grove kept the ball on the ground on their first drive of the quarter. Wineneke found the end zone on a two-yard rush. The extra point attempt was good.
With that touchdown the score was tied at 21.
Roseville looked to score again but there was a fumbles and Maple Grove came up with the ball.
Maple Grove looked to score late in the third quarter. They were not able to convert on fourth down and they turned it over on downs.
The score was tied at 21 after three quarters.
Roseville’s David Stampley came up with a 46-yard reception. Adam Brant came up with an interception for Maple Grove. That gave them the ball back near midfield.
Tyler Kuntson from Maple Grove attempted a 35 field goal which was not good.
Roseville’s Jose Salinas nailed a 31 yard field goal which won the game.
Roseville won the game 24-21.

The attendance for the two games at the TCF Bank Stadium was 3161.
