Elk River and St. Thomas Academy went up against each other in the class 5A State Semifinals in the football playoffs.
Elk River kicked off to St. Thomas to start the game. St. Thomas couldn’t move the ball down the field, and they punted on 4th down.
Both teams punted on their first drives of the game.
St. Thomas Danny McFadden came up with a 32-yard run for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good. With 7:37 left in the first quarter, the score was St. Thomas 8, Elk River 0.
Elk River looked to move the ball down the field, but they punted the ball.
