MOUNTAIN IRON -BUHL WENT UP AGAINST HANCOCK IN THE STATE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Mountain Iron-Buhl H.S. and Hancock High School squared off against each other in the state 9-Man Class football semifinals at the US Bank Stadium. 

Hancock kicked off to start the game. MIB started on their own 33-yard line. MIB moved the ball down the field on the ground. MIB looked to get into the end zone. MIB Dillon Drake came up with a fumble recovery in the end zone for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 7:29 left in the first quarter. The score was MIB 6, Hancock. 0.

Hancock moved the ball down the field as they looked to get into the end zone.  Hancock’s Isaac Nienhaus came up with a six-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 6:04 left in the first quarter, the score was tied at 6.

MIB took over on their own 9-yard line. MIB punted on 4th-and-long.

Hancock took over on the MIB 49-yard line. Hancock continued to look to move the ball down the field.

After one quarter of play, the score was tied at 6.

MIB couldn’t move the ball down the field and MIB punted on 4th-and-7.

Hancock took over on their own 1-yard line. Hancock ran the ball down the field as they kept the ball on the ground. Hancock found the end zone on a Preston Rohloff pass completion to Brandon Kellenberger for a 19-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good.

With 6:32 left in the second quarter, the score was Hancock 14, MIB 12.

MIB struck right as Aidan Bissonette found Tyler Timmerman at the Hancock for a 75-yard return. The two-point conversion was good.

With 6:06 left in the second quarter, the score was Hancock 22, MIB 14.

MIB moved the ball down the field once again as they kept the ball on the field. The defensive pressure that Hancock applied made it difficult for MIB to make clear paths down the field.

MIB was intercepted on their own 1-yard line and that’s where Hancock took over.

Hancock’s Preston Rohloff found teammate Daniel Milander for an 85-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was good.

With 1:36 left in the second quarter, the score was Hancock 30, MIB 14.

MIB took over on their own 42-yard line. MIB ran out the clock to end the second quarter.

At halftime, the score was Hancock 30, MIB 14.

MIB kicked off to start the third quarter. Hancock started on their own 45-yard line.Tyler Timmerman came up with a 46-yard touchdown run. 

The two-point conversion was not good. With 10:06 left in the third quarter, the score was Hancock 36, MIB 14.

MIB couldn’t move the ball and Hancock took over after the punt.

Hancock moved the ball down the field and Timmerman came with a 42-yard touchdown run. The two-point attempt was not good.

With 9:50 left in the third quarter, the score was Hancock 42, MIB 14.

Hancock’s Timmerman came up with a 61-yard run for a touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was good.

With 7:36 left in the third quarter, the score was Hancock 50, MIB 14.

MIB counited to move the ball down the field again. MIB. MIB’s Nikolas Jesch for a 9-yard gain for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was not good. 

With 1:33 left in the third quarter, the score was Hancock 50, MIB 20. 

Hancock ran the clock out to end the third quarter.

After three quarters of play, the score was Hancock 50, MIB 20.

MIB’s Asher Zubich passed to Nikolas Jesch for a 27-yard touchdown reception. The two-point attempt was not good.

With 11:10 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Hancock 50, MIB 26.

Hancock moved the ball down the field again as they looked to get into the end zone. Timmerman came up with an 8-yard run for a touchdown. The two-point attempt was good.

With 9:36 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Hancock 58, MIB 26.

MIB was intercepted by Luke Joos. Timmerman came up with a 20-yard run. That set up a 2-yard by Dalton Rose. The extra point attempt was good.

With 8:21 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Hancock 61, MIB 26.

Hancock moved the ball down the field again. Hancock’s Zubich completed a 52-yard pass to Nikolas Jesch for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 5:48 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Hancock 65, MIB 32.

Hancock moved the ball down the field again as they looked to get into the end zone.

Hancock came away with the 65-32 victory over MIB.

With the victory, Hancock moves on to the Class 9 Man championship game.
