PAYNESVILLE WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN THE CLASS 2A STATE FOOTBALL SEMIFINALS

North kicked off to Paynesville to start the game. Paynesville kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. Paynesville got the ball into the red zone early. Paynesville went for it on 4th-and-6.

Paynesville Grady Fuchs completed a pass to Carter Wessel for an 18-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 5:57 left in the first quarter, the score was Paynesville 6, North 0.

North took over on the 50-yard line. North moved the ball down the field as they went through the air and the run game. North fumbled the ball and Paynesville recovered the ball. Paynesville moved the ball on the ground and took time off the clock. Paynesville moved the ball down the field once again.

After one quarter of play, the score was Paynesville 6, North 0.

Paynesville moved the ball down the field once again as they looked to get first downs. Paynesville was intercepted by North’s Kelan Holcomb.

North started on the Paynesville 39-yard line. North got the ball into the hands of Terrance Kamara. Teammate Zach Yeager came up with a 23-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 9:50 left in the first quarter, the score was tied at 6.

Paynesville took over on their own 31-yard line. Paynesville moved the ball field. Paynesville got the ball into the hands of Levi Bast. Bast came up with rushes as they looked to move the ball down the field. Paynesville’s Daltin Christinsen came up with a 25-yard run for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 6:53 left in the second quarter, the score was Paynesville 12, North 6.

North’s Kamara came up with a 44-yard run that was called back by a penalty. North’s Kamara kept on coming up with long runs for first downs. Kamara came up with a 7-yard run for a touchdown.


The two-point conversion was good by Yeager.

With 5:10 left in the first quarter the score North 14, Paynesville 12.

North called a timeout with 5:02 left in the second quarter the score was North 14, Paynesville 12.

Paynesville moved the ball down the field once again looking to move the chains. Payneville came up with a 33-yard catch by Carter Wessel. Paynesville’s Grady Fuchs came up with a 1-yard run for a touchdown. The two-point attempt was not good.

North called a timeout with 23 seconds left in the second quarter. The score remained Paynesville 18, North 14.

North looked deep down the field late in the quarter.

Paynesville kicked off to start the third quarter. North got the ball into the hands of Kamara. Kamara was able to get a first down. North looked to get into the end zone early. North’s Kamara came up with a 1-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was good by Yeager.

With 9:37 left in the third quarter, the score was North 22, Paynesville 18.

Paynesville took over on their own 28-yard line. Paynesville fumbled the ball and North’s Mario Kuiah came up with the ball.

North looked to get into the end zone midway through the third quarter. Kamara came up with a 7-yard touchdown run. Dominic McMillian came up with the two-point conversion attempt with a pass reception was good.

With 7:09 left in the third quarter, the score was North 30, Paynesville 18.

Paynesville started on its own 30-yard line. Paynesville’s Bast came up with a first down reception. Paynesville looked to move the ball down the field again against the North offense. Paynesville’s Caden Spanier came up with a 40-yard reception for the touchdown. The two-point attempt was not good.

With 3:59 left in the third quarter, the score was North 30, Paynesville 24.

North took over on the Paynesville 49-yard line. North couldn’t move the ball and turned the ball over on downs. Paynesville couldn’t move the ball down the field, and they turned it over on downs.

After three quarters of play, the score was North 30, Paynesville 24.

North punted on fourth down. Paynesville took over on their own 18-yard line. North’s Mario Sanders came up with a 30-yard run for a touchdown. The two-point attempt was good.

With 7:58 left in the fourth quarter, the score was North 38, Paynesville 24.

Paynesville looked to move the ball down the field. Bast came up with a 21-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was good. With 6:14 left in the fourth quarter, the score was North 38, Paynesville 32.

North took over on the 50-yard line. North moved the ball down the field late again. North kept the ball on the ground late in the game. North’s Kamara came up with a 28-yard touchdown run. The two-point attempt was not good.

With 3:30 left in the fourth quarter, the score was North 44, Paynesville 32.

Paynesville was intercepted and North took over. North kept on pounding the ball down the field as they looked to get into the end zone late in the game.

North came away with the 44-32 victory over Paynesville.
