ADA-BOURP TOOK ON EDGERTON/ELLSWORTH IN THE CLASS NINE-MAN STATE SEMIFINAL FOOTBALL GAME

Ada-Bourp took on Edgerton/Ellsworth in the Minnesota State High School League state semifinal football game.

Ada-Bourp kicked off to Edgerton/Ellsworth. Edgerton/Ellsworth scored on their first drive on short run by Devin Hulstein. The two point conversion by Austin LaFollete was good.

With 7:54 left in the first quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 8 and Ada-Bourp 0.

Ada-Bourp got the ball after the touchdown. Ada-Bourp looked to keep the ball on the ground. They really looked for the running backs. Ada-Bourp was not able to get a first down and they turned it over on downs.

Edgerton/Ellsworth took over on downs near midfield. They fumbled the ball and Ada-Bourp recovered the ball and took over on the 20-yard line.

After the first quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 8 and Ada-Bourp 0.

Ada-Bourp punted the ball on fourth down to start the second quarter. Edgerton/Ellsworth looked to drive down the field. Isaac Heard found Cassey Schilling in the end zone for a touchdown. Isaac Heard ran the ball into the end zone for the two point conversion.

With 10:07 left in the second quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 16 and Ada-Bourp 0.

Ada-Bourp got the ball after the touchdown. Ada-Bourp was not able to get a first down on fourth down and they turned it over to Edgerton/Ellsworth.

Edgerton/Ellsworth got the ball back and they drove down the field and Issac Herd set up Casey Schilling. Derek Voge found the end zone on a two yard run for a touchdown. On the first attempt there was a foul on the defense. They tried the the two point conversion again and it was good. Derek Voge ran it in.

With 7:06 left in the second quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 24 and Ada-Bourp 0.

Ada-Bourp got the ball back after the touchdown. Ada-Bourp was able to get a first down on a Lance Ruebke reception. Lance Ruebke caught a 46 yard pass to set up a one yard touchdown run by Ian Halle. The two point conversion was no good.

With 3:32 left in the second quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 24 and Ada-Bourp 6.

Ada-Bourp kicked off after the touchdown.

Edgerton/Ellsworth found the end zone. Devin Hulstein got into the end zone for a touchdown. The two point conversion was good.

Ada-Bourp looked to make one final drive to end out the first half. They were not able to get a first down.

At halftime the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 32 and Ada-Bourp 6.

Ada-Bourp kicked off to start the third quarter. Edgerton/Ellsworth was not able to get a first down and they punted it to Ada-Bourp.

Devin Hulstein ran in for a touchdown. The two point conversion was good. With 8:17 left in the third quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 40 and Ada-Bourp 6.

Ada-Bourp got the ball back after the touchdown. They were not able to get a first down and they punted the ball on fourth down.

Edgerton/Ellsworth went for it on fourth down and one yard to go.

Edgerton/Ellsworth called a timeout with 6:01 left in the third quarter.

Edgerton/Ellsworth was not able to get the first down and Ada-Bourp got the ball back on turnovers and Lance Rubeke caught a Jance Hannen 67 yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was no good.

With 5:48 left in the third quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 40 and Ada-Bourp 12.

Ada-Bourp kicked off after the touchdown. Edgerton/Ellsworth fumbled the ball and Ada-Bourp recovered it.

Edgerton/Ellsworth got the ball back and they threatened to score. Isaac Heard was brought down to the two yard line. Derek Voge scored a touchdown with 2:17 left. They tried the two point conversion and was successful.

With 2:17 left in the third quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 48 and Ada-Bourp 12.

Ada-Bourp got the ball back after the touchdown. They looked deep to look for first downs. Ada-Bourp was not able to get a touchdown and they turned it over on downs.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Edgerton/Ellsworth 48 and Ada-Bourp 12.

Edgerton/Ellsworth got the ball to start fourth quarter. They were not able to get a first down. Edgerton/Ellsworth punted the ball on fourth down and 14 to go.

Ada-Bourp got the ball on the back but Edgerton/Ellsworth recovered it. Edgerton/Ellsworth was not able to get a first down and Ada-Bourp got it back.

Ada-Bourp got a touchdown when Mitch Lee found J D Kappes in the end zone. The two point conversion was good.

Edgerton/Ellsworth came away with the 48-20 victory over Ada-Bourp.

After the game I was able to talk to Edgerton/Ellsworth players Devin Hulstein, Derek Voge, and head coach Andrew Fleischman about the game.

Devin Hulstein said that, “making it to the state tournament was exciting to play this game. The drive and touchdown set the tone of the game early. Football means the whole world to me.”
DerekVoge said, “I thought that my team played well. I was also Unbelievable feeling like., Means the whole world to me. During the season our team never got to high or to low.”

Head Coach Andrew Fleichman said his team, “ Execute early. Tackled well flew round football. Stat in June. Champs of June, camps of the conference. Take one game at time.” When talking about the play of Derek Voge and Devin Hulstein he said they, “ran hard all game great with fakes no star backs 3 or 4 guys who can run and execute.”
