THE UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS TOOK ON HAMLINE IN A MEN'S BASKETBALL GAME

The University of St. Thomas took on Hamline University in a men's basketball game. St. Thomas came into the game with an overall record of 5-1 and they were 2-0 in conference.

Both of these teams looked to get the ball down the court as quickly as they could. Both teams wanted to set their own pace of the game early.

Hamline started the game in a zone defense. They looked to spread St. Thomas out.

Hamline's Mike Campbell took the ball down the court and was able to get some nice shots.

The score went back and forth early in the contest. Neither team went on the run. It took them each a while to feel each other out.

St. Thomas called a timeout with 12:19 left in the first half with the score Hamline 16 and St. Thomas 13.

St. Thomas guard Marcus Alipate was all over the court. He was able to get the ball down the court and get his teammates involved in the play.

Hamline called a timeout with 9:13 left in the first half with the score St. Thomas 21 and Hamline 18.

St. Thomas passed the ball around the three-point line as they looked to take time off the clock and get into their offense.

St. Thomas was all over the rebounds. Their big men down low were able to come away with rebounds on both ends of the floor.

Campbell came up with a couple of key steals. He was able to get to the free throw lane and knock down the free throws.

Hamline's Zach Reideman knocked down a few back-to-back three-point shots.

St. Thomas’ Dylan Christopher Stewart got into the game and was able to slow down his defender. He was able to pass the ball in to his teammates on offense. If Stewart was open he would shoot the shot.

St. Thomas went on a run late in the first half. Hamline didn't back down though as they kept on defending shots and making good plays on both ends of the floor.

Hamline went cold shooting late in the half. They were not able to hit shots.

At halftime the score was St. Thomas 49 and Hamline 34.

As the second half got underway Hamline started out in the zone defense. Hamline opened the half on a run.

With 16:35 left in regulation St. Thomas called a time out the score was St. Thomas 53 and Hamline 40.

Hamline went on a run after the timeout.

St. Thomas called a timeout with 11:45 left in regulation. The score was St. Thomas 63 and Hamline 53.

Hamline looked to chip away at their deficit. St. Thomas didn't back down.

Victor Easter for Hamline took the ball hard to the basket.

St. Thomas called a timeout with 8:09 left in regulation the score was St. Thomas 72 and Hamline 58.

St. Thomas looked to move the ball around the three-point line. They went to a zone defense. St. Thomas was able to keep Hamline guessing on what they were going.

Hamline called a timeout with 3:56 left in regulation. The score was St. Thomas 78 and Hamline 70.

St. Thomas continued to hit shots down the stretch. I though that both teams played well throughout the whole game. In the end St. Thomas came away with the 94-77 victory over Hamline.

The leading scorers for Hamline were Mike Campbell with 20, Brandon Rieg with 17 and Noah Aguirre and Dior Ford with 11 points. Hamline shot 29-67 from the field that included going 6-21 from behind the three-point line. They were 13-16 from the free throw line.

The leading scorers for St. Thomas were Tommy Hannon with 18 points, Zach Riedeman and Will DeBerg with 15 points and Peter Leslie with 13 points. St. Thomas shot 36-62 from the field that including going 8-18 from behind the three-point line. They shot 14-20 from the free throw line.
