2012 MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ASSOCIATION ALL STAR FOOTBALL GAME

88 out top football players in Minnesota get together each year for a football all star game. The players are chosen from there coaches and then split into two different teams. Each tear they get together on the last Saturday in June for a football game. This years game was played at Husky Stadium on the campus of St. Cloud State University. This was the 39 year of the football game.

This years game was split between North and South teams.

The North kicked off to the South to start the game. South started the game with the ball on their 16 yard line. Tre Heid was the quarterback for the South. On the first series of the game the South kept the ball on the ground using a running attack. South got a first down on a passing play from Tre Heid to Hunter Friesen. The North came up with some big plays on defense. South punted the ball on fourth down and 13.

The North got the ball and Josh Werness fumbled the ball and Justin Carr came up with the ball for the South to give them the ball back.

The South got the ball on the 30 yard line. The North tried to stop the South on defense. Trey Heid looked to get the ball into the end zone. Heid found Matt Heller in the end zone for a 8 yard touchdown pass.

The extra point attempt by Trey Heid was no good.

With 8:01 left in the first quarter the score was South 6 and North 0.

South kicked off to the North after the touchdown.

The North got the ball back on their 22 yard line. The North looked to get the ball into the air and pass it. North fumbled and Jeffery Amundson from the South came up with the ball on the North 1 yard line. The South got a touchdown on a Beau Bofferding scored on a one yard touchdown one.

With 7:07 left in the first quarter the score was South 12 and North 0.

Trey Heid kicked off to the North after the touch down. The North got the ball back and they looked to get the ball down the field. They were able to get a first down late in the first quarter.

DJ Hebert for the North came up with some nice defensive plays for his team.

The score after the first quarter was South 12 and North 0.

The South got the ball to start the second quarter. They were not able to get a first down so they had to punt the ball to the North All Stars.

The North got the ball back and they kept the ball on the ground. They were able to get a first down. The North kept the ball on the ground as they looked to attack the defense. The North gave the ball back to the South on downs.

Kit Snyder had a good first half. He was all over the field on the defensive end. He came up with some nice tackles in the first half.

The North All Stars looked to get into the end zone late in the half. They did just that as Nate Meyer found Cody Rutledge in the end zone for a touchdown. The point after attempt was good.

Hebert for the North came up with some nice plays on the defensive end. He was able to knock guys out of bounds before they got the first down.

In a very competitive first half at halftime the score was the South All Stars 12 North All Starts 7.

The South kicked off to the North to start the third quarter. The North came out looking like they wanted to keep the ball on the ground and pound the ball on the ground to get into the end zone. The North kept the ball om the ground on the first drive. The North got a first down. Esten Weber came up with a good catch for the first down. Joshua Bungum got the ball and made a scamper to the end zone but came up short. On the next play Joe Mollberg came up with a one yard touchdown run with 6:27 left in the third quarter. They attempted a two point conversion was good. Joshua Bungum got a two yard run for the two point conversion.

With 8:227 left in the third quarter the score was North All Stars 15 and South All Stars 12.

The South got the ball back after the touchdown. The South looked to get back into the end zone. They threatened to score on the next drive. The South's Beau Stough ran in for a one yard touchdown run. Trey Heid attempted the point after attempt and it was successful.

With 2:25 left in the third quarter the score was South 19 and North 15.

The North got the ball back after the touchdown. They were not able to get a first down and they had to punt the ball back to the South. Maverick Edmunds found the end zone on a one yard touchdown run. Trey Heid had a successful extra point attempt.

The score after the three quarters of play was South 26 and North 15.

The South threatened to score on the first drive of the fourth quarter.

Beau Bofferding scored a touchdown with 11:09 left in the fourth quarter. Trey Heid scored the extra point.

DJ Herbert made a good kick off reception and ran it back 20 yards back. The North kept the ball on the ground as they looked to to get the ball down the field late in the contest.

Final score: South All-Stars 33, North All-Stars 21.
