HIGH PERFORMANCE ACADEMY TOOK ON EL-AMIN FISH HOUSE IN A BASKETBALL GAME

High Performance Academy took on El-Amin Fish House in the Howard Pulley Pro City Summer League.

The game got off to a quick start as each team raced up and down the floor looking for their shots. High Performance Academy looked to get the ball into the hands of Quinton Lee Hooker.

Kyle Washington for High Performance Academy had good moves around the basket. He would call for the ball when he was on the low block. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in the low post to obtain easy scores while at the same time putting tremendous pressure on the opposing defense.

Bjron Broman was all over the floor on the offensive end. He was able to hit his shots around the basket. His teammates did a good job of finding him in open spots on the floor.

At the end of first quarter the score was High Performance Academy 37 and El-Amin Fish House 20.

El-Amin Fish House had difficulty finding their range. There shooting percentage was atrocious but they continued to attack the rim in an attempt to either convert the lay-up or get to the charity line.

Kevin Thompson came up with a few nice jump shots that kept his team in the game. His teammate Quinton Lee Hooker was able to come up with some nice baskets in the second quarter.

El-Amin Fish House fought throughout the second quarter. They wanted to knock down shots and chip away at the deficit, however they seemed to be out-manned throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was High Performance Academy 63 and El-Amin Fish House 43.

As the second third quarter got underway High Performance kept on attacking the basket. The game got competitive in the third quarter. Both teams buckled down and they took their time on the offensive end.

Jake Thomas for El-Amin Fish House came up with some nice moves to the basket. He was able to blow by his defenders to get to the basket. He also cleared out the defense and got some easy lay ups.

El-Amin Fish House went on a run midway through the third quarter. After being down 20 points at halftime they were able to erase 16 of those points and come within 4 points of tying their opponent.

The game was competitive late in the third quarter. Both teams seem to play relaxed and under control. Neither team rushed their shots or gave up easy shots.

Khalid El-Amin proved to be the difference maker. Playing in his first game of the tournament he looked liked the Khalid that was noted for his prowess at North High School. He was able to blow by guys for lay-ups and he was knocking down his shots.

When Khalid and Malik El-Amin were both on the floor at the same time Malik looked relaxed and under control on the floor. Khalid is Malik's uncle.

At the end of the third quarter the score was High Performance Academy 81 and El-Amin Fish House 79.

The game picked up intensity late in the contest. Both teams seemed to clamp down on defense and there were not many easy shots put up even though guys had good looks. The teams were conscious of being INSIDE the three point line as they were looking to convert their shot attempts.

El-Amin Fish House took the lead midway through the fourth quarter. High Performance tried to answer back with shot conversions but it was not enough.

El-Amin Fish House battled back and they were able to come away with the 104-99 victory.

The leading scorers for El-Amin Fish House were Jacob Thomas with 25 points, Kevin Thompson with 24 points.

The leading scorers for High Performance Academy were Dion Bradley with 23 points, Anders Broman with 21 points, Quinton Lee Hooker and Jake Wright each with 17 points and Kyle Washington with 10 points.
