High Performance Academy took on
Information Investors in a basketball game in the Howard Pulley Pro City Summer
League.
The game got off to a quick start as
each team raced up and down the court shooting as many shots as they
could from anywhere on the court.
High Performance Academy looked to get
the ball into the hands of Tyus Robert Jones. Jones was all over the
floor. He could shoot the ball from anywhere he wanted. He also was
able to bring the ball down the floor and get his guys set up in the
offense.
The pace of the game slowed down in the
first quarter. The teams realized that it was better to use the clock
to their advantage.
At the end of the first quarter the
score was Information Investors 33 and High Performance Academy 30.
As the second quarter got underway both
teams really did a good job attacking the basket and taking time on
the offensive end.
Darren Glover for Information Investors
Group looked to blow by the guys that were trying to guard him. He
was successful at doing that a few times as he found different ways
to get to the basket.
Jones was all over the floor. He took
the ball hard to the basket and powered it up to the rim. Jones was
determined to get the basket every time he got the ball.
Al Richter for Information Investors
was on fire. He was hitting shots from everywhere on the floor.
At halftime the score was High
Performance Academy 65 and Information Investors 61.
As the third quarter got underway the
score went back and forth. Each team made it difficult for the other
team to score baskets.
Jones did a good job of controlling
traffic on the court. He knew where his men were supposed to be on
the floor and he instructed them on where they were supposed to go in
each offensive set.
Dion Bradley for High Performance was
all over the floor. He blew by his defenders on offense and then he
played tough lock down defense. There was no quit in that kid.
The third quarter was close as neither
team was able to go on a run.
The score was tied at 91 after three
quarters of play.
As the fourth quarter got underway both
teams chewed a lot of time off of the clock. They passed the ball
around the three-point line to take time off the clock.
High Performance continued to look to
get the ball into the hands of Jones. Jones was still hungry for the
ball as he continued to call for the ball late in the contest.
As the game came down the wire
Information Investors came away with the 133-125 victory over High
Performance Academy.
The leading scorers for Information
Investors Group were Al Richter with 49 points, Jonah Travis with 32
points and Evan Battle with 22 points.
Tyus Robert Jones ended up scoring 30 points.
