HILL-MURRAY TOOK ON WACONIA IN THE BOYS’ SOCCER STATE SEMIFINAL

Hill-Murray went up against Waconia in the state class A semifinals in the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

Hill-Murray scored first with 38:04 left in the first half by Shea Bottum with the assist going to Peter Blaney.

The score after the goal was Hill-Murray 1, Waconia 0.

Both teams went after the ball in the first half. There was a lot of movement by both teams on both sides of the ball.

Hill-Murray continued to move the ball well down field as they knew where each other was on the field.

Both teams seemed like they were evenly matched. Everyone knew where they were supposed to be on the field and they both fought hard going after the ball on each end of the field.

Neither team let the other team get any easy shots on goal midway through the first half.

At halftime the score was Hill-Murray 1, Waconia 0.

As the second half got underway Hill-Murray continued to attack the goal by making plays near the goal. The Waconia defenders did a good job of getting the ball out of their zone.

I thought that both teams played well as neither team easy shots on goal.

In a hard fought game Hill-Murray came away with the 1-0 victory over Waconia.
