PRAIRIE SEEDS ACADEMY WENT UP AGAINST NORTH ST. PAUL IN THE STATE QUARTERFINALS OF THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE STATE SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Prairie Seeds Academy (PSA) and North St. Paul (North) went up against each other in the quarterfinals of the Minnesota State High School League boys’ soccer state tournament.  Going into the game PSA had a record of 14-0-0 while North had a record of 17-1-1.

Both teams looked to get off to a quick start. North did a good job of getting the ball down the field they had good ball movement as they were able to get everyone involved in the offense.

With 24:00 left in the first half PSA’s Mourir Peterson-Darbaki scored a goal from 5 yards out.

The score with 24 minutes left was PSA 1, North 0.

Both teams continued to move the ball down the field

Tyler Oliver for North scored a goal with 19:40 left to go in the first half.

That made the score tied at 1.

Both teams played very aggressively. There were many penalties by both teams throughout the first half but nothing major. Both teams didn’t lose their cool.

The first half was very physical. Neither team gave up any easy shots.

At halftime the score was tied at 1.

NSP’s Adam Hildebrant scored a goal with 37:42 left to go in regulation.

With that goal the score was North 2, PSA 1.

Both teams played with a lot of passion and energy.

North moved the ball well down the field. They were able to move around the field without the ball.

I thought that both teams played well. It was a very physical game and it was a fun game to cover.

Both teams attacked the goal hard and they didn’t give up on either end of the field.

In a hard fought game North came away with the 2-1 victory over PSA.

With that win North will play Andover in the state semifinals on October 28.
