RICHFIELD WENT UP AGAINST HOLY ANGELS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Richfield and Holy Angels went after it on the basketball court on Jan. 10.

Richfield looked to swing the ball around the 3-point line.

Defensively Richfield started in a zone defense. They wanted to spread the Holy Angels offense out.

The score went back and forth early in the first half. It took a while for each team to get acclimated to what the other team was doing.

Richfield’s  Markest  Brown hit mid-range jump shots and jump shots and were able to come up with shots.

There were many ties and lead changes throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run in the first half.

Richfield switched between man-to-man and zone defense throughout the first half. Holy Angels had a hard time figuring out what defense Richfield was playing.

Holy Angels called a timeout with 5:47 left in the first half. The score was Holy Angels 22, Richfield 18.

Neither team went on a run in the first half.

At halftime the score was Holy Angels 33, Richfield 29.  

The score continued to go back and forth throughout the second half.

The defense played by both teams made it difficult for the other team to get shots off.

The Richfield offense went to sleep midway through the second half. They had a difficult time scoring baskets throughout the second half.

Neither team was able to take an uncontested shot in the second half.

Holy Angels came away with the 71-63 victory over Richfield.
