St. Paul Central and Sioux Falls Lincoln squared off in a boys’ basketball game. Lincoln came out firing as they built an 8-1 lead with 3:55 left in the first quarter.
Central struggled to shoot the ball in the first quarter.
Lincoln was able to get everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and took a lot of time off the 35 second shot clock. They looked to shoot the ball around 15 seconds left on the shot clock.
After one quarter of play the score was Lincoln 15, Central 6.
Central struggled to shoot the ball in the first half. Lincoln was able to come up with fast break layups and mid-range jump shots.
Lincoln did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense.
Lincoln called a timeout with 3:32 left in the second quarter. The score was Lincoln 24, Central 8.
Central went to a zone defense late in the second quarter. They were able to spread Lincoln out and forced them to take long shots.
At halftime the score was Lincoln 31, Central 11.
As the third quarter got underway Lincoln continued to look to hit layups in transition.
Lincoln’s Addison Park was all over the floor. He was able to get to the basket and make layups and mid-range jump shots.
After three quarters of play the score was Lincoln 53, Central 16.
Lincoln was a lot quicker than Central. Lincoln came up was able to get everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of spreading the ball around and passing it to each other. Park and Kaleb Johnson did a good job of getting to the basket and hitting shots. The Central defense had a hard time slowing them down.
Lincoln came away with the 64-25 victory over Central.
The leading scorers for Lincoln were Addison Park with 19 points and Johnson with 16 points.
The leading scorers for Central was Muse Adbikaklak with 6 points.
