On Dec. 23, Minneapolis DeLaSalle and Benilde-St. Margaret’s squared off in a boys’ basketball game.
The score went back and forth for a period in the first half. Neither team went on a run. Both teams weren’t afraid to shoot the ball in the first half.
Benilde wasn’t afraid to push the ball down the floor and look for layups in transition. Benilde’s Gabe Alada came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
DeLaSalle did a good job of swinging the ball around the 3-point line. They were able make mid-range jump shots and layups.
Benilde-St.Margaret’s called a timeout with 6:11 left in the first half. The score was DeLaSalle 20, Benilde-St. Margaret’s 19.
DeLaSalle’s Gabe Kalscheur was all over the floor. On the offensive end, he came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. On the defensive end Kalscheur was able to slow down the guy he was guarding.
DeLaSalle wasn’t afraid to take shots from inside or the outside of the 3-point line.
At halftime, the score was DeLaSalle 40, Benilde -St. Margaret’s 27.
As the second half got underway DeLaSalle continued to push the ball down the floor and score layups in transition.
Benilde- St. Margaret’s struggled to score layups in the second half. They didn’t give up. They kept attacking the basket and looking for mid-range jump shots and layups.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s continued to attack the basket throughout the second half.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s called a timeout with 7:29 left in regulation. The score was Benilde- St. Margaret’s 40, DeLaSalle 40.
Benilde- St. Margaret’s continued to look to score late in the contest.
DeLaSalle came away with the 76-47 victory over Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
