Osseo and DeLaSalle went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game on Jan. 4. Both teams raced up and down the floor early looking to score baskets in transition.
There were multiple ties and lead changes early. Neither team went on a run.
DeLaSalle could get everyone involved in their offense. They did a good job of passing the ball around to each other and getting everyone involved in the offense.
DeLaSalle’s Goanar Mar was all over the floor. On the defensive end, he could slow down the guy he was guarding. On the offensive end, he got to the basket and could make mid-range jump shots and layups.
Osseo did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of talking to each other and could know where everyone was on the floor.
Osseo called a timeout with 6:32 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 20, DeLaSalle 15.
Osseo could keep attacking the basket late in the first half.
DeLaSalle called a timeout with 2:57 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 33, DeLaSalle 25.
DeLaSalle looked to come up with steals and turn them into layups late in the first half.
At halftime, the score was Osseo 45, DeLaSalle 37.
As the second half got underway Osseo continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.
DeLaSalle’s Dominic Bledsoe came up with deep 3-point baskets midway through second half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
DeLaSalle looked to keep attacking the basket and attempting 3-point shots and layups.
Mar came up with deep 3-point baskets that kept DeLaSalle in the game. The Osseo defense had a difficult time slowing him down in the second half.
Osseo called a timeout with 9:11 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 60, DeLaSalle 58.
The score went back and forth late in the game. Neither team gave up the entire game. Both teams played hard throughout the game.
DeLaSalle called a timeout with 3:25 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 72, DeLaSalle 69.

Gabe Kalschur came away with the winning basket at the buzzer.
DeLaSalle came away with the 76-74 victory over Osseo.
