Princeton and St. Cloud Apollo squared off in a boys’ basketball game. Both teams pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition.
Princeton took their time on the offensive end. They passed the ball around to each other as they got everyone involved in the offense.
Apollo struggled to shooting early. They kept on attacking the basket. After a slow start their shots started to drop.
After a slow start by Apollo their shots started to drop with just under 4 minutes to play in the first half.
Princeton called a timeout with 2:07 left in the first half. The score was Apollo 28, Princeton 21.
Apollo came up with steals on the defensive end and could turn them into layups on the offensive end.
At halftime, the score was Apollo 35, Princeton 24.
As the second half got underway Princeton kept on attacking the basket and coming up with layups. They took their time on the offensive end as they got everyone involved in the offense.
The score went back and forth for a period in the second half. Neither team went on a run.
Princeton called a timeout with 5:21 left in regulation, the score was Apollo 49, Princeton 44.
As the clock down Apollo came up with big layups down the stretch.
The Princeton offense stalled out as they were not able to make shots late in the game.
Apollo came away with the 65-51 victory over Princeton.
