RED LAKE AND MICHELE CLARK WENT UP AGAINST EACH OTHER IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Michele Clark (Ill.) and Red Lake squared off in a boys’ basketball game on Dec. 28, at Minneapolis North High School.
Red Lake started the game in a zone defense. They wanted to make Clark take deep shots.
Red Lake looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition. Clark took their time on the offensive end.
Clark passed the ball around the 3-point line. They looked to get everyone involved in the offense.
Red Lake looked to get the ball inside to Robert Beaulieu III. Beaulieu came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
Clark called a timeout with 14:11 left in the first half the score was tied at 8.
Red Lake could push the ball down the floor and make mid-range jump shots and layups.
There were several ties and lead changes throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls and went after rebounds.
Red Lake’s Justin Barrett was all over the floor. On the offensive end, Barrett came up with mid-range jump shots and deep 3-point shots.
Red Lake used both man-to-man and zone defenses throughout the first half.
Clark stepped up their defensive pressure and could slow Red Lake down on the offensive end.
Red Lake called a timeout with 5:06 left in the first half. The score was Clark 30, Red Lake 25.
Red Lake’s zone defense made Clark take time off the clock and pass the ball around the 3-point line.
The first half was very close. Neither team went on a run.
At halftime, the score was Clark 36, Red Lake 30.
As the second half got underway Clark continued to attack the basket as they looked for mid-range jump shots and layups.
There were multiple ties and lead changes throughout the second half.
Red Lake tried to trap the ball as Clark brought it down the floor. Clark could get out of the trap and get to the basket.
Red Lake could create pressure on the defensive end and could create turnovers.
Neither team went on a run in the second half.
Red Lake found their shots late in regulation. They could slow Clark down shooting wise for a period. Clark couldn’t handle the ball in the second half.
Red Lake came away with the 80-79 victory over Clark.
