EL-AMIN’S FISH HOUSE TOOK ON SABES FOUNDATION

In the first game of the evening El-Amin’s Fish House took on Sabes Foundation. Sid Hartman from the Minneapolis Star Tribune was in the building for first game.

Both teams looked to get into the flow of the game from the beginning. They each took their time in making their shot selections. Both teams were able to find the basket in the early goings of the game.

The Sabes Foundation really pushed the ball up the court in the first quarter. Right after a basket they were looking to get the ball out of the basket and go the other way with it. They were able to get El-Amin’s Fish House off kilter because they were so fast.

Marcus Hill did a good job of getting the ball up the court for Sabes Foundation. Hill was also able to get his teammates into the game. He found his open teammates and was able to get them involved in scoring chances.

At the end of the first quarter the score was Sabes Foundation 33 and El Amin’s Fish House 30.

As the second quarter got underway both teams kept up the intensity. Neither team was going to back down in this one.

Rich Melzer was able to shake lose his defender and blow past him and go in for a nice lay up on many different trips down the court in the game.

At the half the score was Sabes Foundation 55 and El-Amin’s Fish House 51.

As the third quarter got underway the defense tightened up. Both teams went really hard after each other and neither team gave up.

The score went back and forth midway through the third quarter. El-Amin’s Fish House tried to trap the ball on the defensive end. They were able to rattle Sabes Foundation.

Both teams kept the ballgame close in the third quarter. Neither team was able to go on a run. There were several ties and lead changes in the quarter. Chris Halvorsen drained half court shot at the buzzer for Sabes Foundation.

At the end of the third quarter the score was Sabes Foundation 78 and El-Amin’s Fish House 77.

As the fourth quarter got underway both teams seemed to really take their time at shooting the ball. Neither team wanted to take an early shot. There were at least 10 seconds before either team looked to shoot the ball to being the quarter.

Both teams dove after loose balls and really were scrappy. Neither team was going to let down.

In the end El-Amin’s Fish House was able to come away with the 109-98 victory over Sabes Foundation.
